You totally didn't get what I said. If Roids made you a better "hitter" then anyone could take them and play the sport. What it does is it makes your hits harder...but the actual process of HITTING the ball still requires the skill, that not many in this world can do at the major league level.

Hell if I took roids could I hit even the worst middle reliever in the came...NO. But if I did by some small chance get a hold of the ball then taking roids would give me a better chance of making it become a hit as oppsed to a lazy grounder to short.

Do you know what roids does for you?? It makes you hit the ball harder so a normal fly ball etc may actually get out for a HR. or your hit up the middle will get through quicker with less of a chance to get snagged.

Barry is an awesome player in that regard and its a shame the roids may be his legecay because he is one of the best hitters ever in the game.

I can't stand Barry but what you said sums it up great hitter, would of been a good power hitter without roids but instead was an great power hitter because of roids. I hope hall of fame voters see this cause i don't think he deserves to go to the hall..... That goes for any hall of fame caliber player that cheated by taking steroids.

roids gives him a faster hands and therefore a faster BAT. faster more equals more power due to bat speed.

faster bat speed means you can see the ball longer and start your swing later. mightnow sound like much but 1/20 of a second is a long time when the ball is coming at you at 90+ MPH

and faster bat speed means the ball bounces off the bat alote faster, like you said ground balls get through the infield, fly balls get out of the ball park. over the course of 162 games its not a stretch to assume 30 or 40 hits came because of that reason. and 30 hits in a seson can move your average from .285 to .320. that can be a huge difference

What we're talking about here is reaction time and bat speed. Did what he take help with his reaction time or his hand-eye coordination? I don't know...experts don't know for sure. So how do we know that it helped him?

10-15 lbs of muscle and straight ahead running is different than almost 50lbs of muscle and hitting a baseball.
