Boise State (football)

I think the Broncos are the most under-rated college football team in the nation. With all things considered--that being their schedule strength--they deserve a little more credit than they are getting.

In 2002 they began the season unranked (as do all WAC teams) and they fought their way towards the top. The Broncos went 11-1 last year, their only loss came when the played Arkansas (away) without their starting quaterback. They finished off their season by beating Iowa State 34-16 in their bowl game. The final rankings had Boise State at #17. They averaged over 47 points a game in 2002.

This season comes along and with knowledge of last year, the Broncos begin the season, as usual, unranked. They lose--just like last year--one game, this time it was against Oregon State (at Oregon). They averaged just under 44 points a game and they finish the regular season ranked #16 going 12-1. They play their bowl game against #19 TCU.

What does everyone think about the Broncos? Sure, if they weren't a WAC team I wouldn't be posting this, but since I am, let me know what you think.

Is it all in the schedule strength?
If they would have started the year ranked where they finished last year, would they be in the top 10 competing for a much better bowl?

Or do you think they are right where they should be.

All bashing is welcome, this is not even close to my favorite team.

I remember watching the Broncos play a game last year and one of the comentators said that not even Miami could come into the blue turf and walk away with a win, I couldn't agree more. I wonder what it would be like to watch Oklahoma Play @ Boise State this year. You'd be suprised...

yeah I think they are a good ass team as well, gotta love the blue turf also....I think each year more and more teams from lesser conferences are getting exposed and getting rewarded, its a slow process but you seem teams like Boise State, Miami Of Ohio and others creeping up in the rankings....its just a matter of time before people are more open to those schools.....on the better bowl tip...I think alot of that has to do with travel and how many fans travel, thats a huge part of bowls and who goes where sometimes, dont know how much of a following Boise State has

fresno state was terrible this year...berrian cant even get the ball...they run about 4 different offensive plays all game long...its sad

Him bein the 1st reciever taken in the upcoming draft like I said will justify that!! So no u are dead wrong buddy!! But u on the other hand is way off with booboo Berrian!! If Roy Williams played on a booby ass team,he would have better numbers.Texas has playmakers at every position,including one of the best tailbacks in the Nation.When you have a great running game,you obviously don't have to throw a great deal.Roy is talked about as a for sure 1st rounder,and more than likely the first reciever picked,and Berrian is looking to be playing alot of special teams,or maybe even a little Euro ball..lol,now that is just some knowledge for you to soak up and spread amongst your friends.

Boise State would abso-fucking-lutely SMASH on Miami of Ohio! Miami's a very good team, but seriously...if you've actually watched Boise State...especially in person...they are the real deal. Going into Boise State and coming away with a win is real tough...that's real talk. And they win on the road.

Dinwiddie is a very good quarterback...not the best, of course...but he gets the job done. Real consistant...tough as hell, too.

And that reciever, Gilligan, is the cousin of my old high school basketball coach...<<<Why does that matter? Dunno...

Anyways...I'm not knocking Miami of Ohio...but seriously...Boise State would win.
