BodogFight announced that it has partnered with Score Media Inc. to extend the reach of its mixed martial arts programming in Canada. BodogFight will be on “The Score” starting Sept. 4 with its BodogFight: Costa Rica Combat series.

The series will air new episodes on Tuesdays at 9pm EST / 8PM CST. The show will replay on Thursdays.

“We are thrilled to be partnering up with The Score,” said Calvin Ayre, the founder of Bodog Entertainment. “As a Canadian myself, I know first hand how passionate the country’s fight fans are, so I am especially pleased to be able to bring them ‘Bodog Fight’ from coast to coast.”

Bodog Fight is currently offered on The Fight Network in Canada. The deal with Score Media further extends their reach into the market.

Bodog has worked hard to get their brand established. They secured the services of Matt Lindland, then the #1 middleweight fighter in the world, and the #1 heavyweight in the world, Fedor Emelianenko, to fight under its banner for one fight.

Bodog has aired its BodogFight show on the Ion Network in the U.S. Unfortunately, the series has not taken off the way that Bodog had hoped it would. According to medialifemagazine.com, “[Ion] has … been airing martial arts show ‘Bodog Fight’ in late night since last year, but the brawling competition was too much of a departure for the network, [said Brandon Burgess, president and CEO of ION Media Networks]. It’ll probably go off the air once Bodog’s deal with ION ends in February.”

Sources at Bodog plan to announce a new U.S. television distribution deal once their current run on ION has ended, although no details were forthcoming at the time of publication.
