Blinking red light on PS3

remove your hard drive...clean the connection....if that doesnt work...your hard drive is probably already gone
Try 1. Take your hard disk out and boot the PS3, 2. Then turn it off and put the hard disk back, 3. Re-boot again. If it doesn’t fix the red light try an extra step: 1. Take your hard disk out, 2. Turn it on to get the game out, 3. Put the hard disk back into PS3, 4. Turn on. DO IT A FEW TIMES.

naw but I've had a shitload of issues with my PS3, biggest was when the bluray lens burned out because I've got a shitty 40 gb - ONE MONTH past the end of my warranty. They told me 'it'll be $150' I told them 'fuck your mother' & put a new one in myself.
But yea... don't be afraid to take that fucker apart, clean everything really good, & put it all back together.

these machines 360/ps3 are really standard as far as the insides go...the most intimidating part about it is getting passed the shell
i dont bother with MS or SCEA for warranty stuff...whats the point so they can fuck me on my Hard drive and then charge me possibly too...no thanks
i fixed my 360 myself cost me 20 dollars in parts....i had a friends ps3 go red light and that was hard drive connection...he failed to tell me he dropped the console until after....
anything can be fixed by yourself....question is how confident are you when it comes to repairing electronics?
i fixed my laptop today ...the DC jack was loose, screen would flicker constantly and battery wouldnt charge because of a bad contact...took the laptop apart soldered the new DC jack on the motherboard and put back together...works like new..saved me 200 on that repair
