I really never have seen it before. I really don't know what to make of it.

It shouldn't be that big of a deal being that its a mere formality at 1 second and you don't have the ball. But, like I said...I've never seen a coach do that.

^^^nah it's been mentioned and i feel he was leaving cause he didnt know there was 1 sec left. him and the giants coach both went out to mid feild and belichick shook his hand like any other game even when we win then a crowd of paparazzi surrounded him so he just left quick before he even knew it. right after the game he did an interview and gave all credit to the giants n shit so i think it was just a mistake and he didnt know the game was still on

He was pissed at losing the superbowl, I'm sure if any of you were in his position uzi's and tec's would come out, lots of people would be dead lol

But the play he challenged where there was 12 men on the field was harsh and unsportsmanlike IMO, it was fucking so close but a lame penalty could of cost the Giants the game..

No, but he should have stayed until the game was officially over. He always seems to do things like this (like with Mangini and the handshake), and it's never his fault, he didn't know, it was an accident...save it.

As a coach, it was responsibility to stay for the entire game. If there was :01 second left and HIS team had the ball...would he have left? NO.

I think it was very UNproffesional in a PROfessional sport, and shows what a pathetic jerk he really is.

Remember Moss leaving the field in Minnesota? He was a quitter, a bitch, etc...and the same applies to Bill. In fact, more so, because he's the LEADER of this team, and he left some of his players on the field, not knowing what to do. Watch the last play, as the players are coming onto the field...they're looking around like they're confused. THAT is his fault, and if I was a player, I would have let him know how I felt about that.

That's my take on it...

I would have been upset as a player on the Patriots. You're the HEAD COACH! The leader of the team! And you leave your team on the field without you to finish the game? If you team is out there you should be out there with them. NO CLASS!

Captain goes down with the ship. Doesn't matter if there is 1 second, doesn't matter if you already said good game to the opposition, doesn't matter if you are disappointed, if your team is on the field you should be too.

As I said in the other thread…he knew there was 1 second left and another play had to be ran. The ref was holding him and telling him. Face it…the guy is a bitch.

He stands on the sidelines running up the score on teams all fuckin’ year long and making them stand there and take it…but he can’t go back and wait 1 damn second…..

Lots of good points in this thread.

I don't believe that "he didn't know" there was still one second left. Anyone who plays sports is constantly aware of the clock. This is the friggin' SB - there were probably game clocks all over the place! "I didn't know" doesn't get him off the hook.
