I just heard somebody recommend an oakland rapper with a name like Big Shell or something like that. The album was supposed to have a name like doin my thang. I've never heard about this rapper. Anybody know anything about him?

Thanks homie. I gotta check that one out. One of my old school homies recently told me that this album was pure heat, but he is a vinyl head. Don't think he got it on tape and he's not downloading either. Gotta make a phone call and find out what format he's got...

^^did you ever find out if he had it on vinyl or tape?
Nah, it turned out that he thought he'd had it on tape back in the days but lost it... At least he didn't have it on vinyl or CD. I guess he just remembered it from back in the days and wanted to hear if I knew something about it or had it. After what I've read it's supposed to be some classic funky Oakland stuff.

oh aight. yeah, ive heard it was a tape-only release but i also read somewhere a while back that he later re-released it on cd. not too sure though.

yes it came out on cd too.
i think thats a home made cover that somebody created. i remember somebody selling cdr copies on ebay a few years ago.

I don't really know but I heard he come from Pittsburg.
Here is the scan of the OG tape :

yea i was told that it was a tape only release too.

someone had a thread up a while while back talkin about that he passed away (rip if he did). but i was feelin his music. he also got a solo self titled cd and then another one (big shell korleone) called unexplainable. he was also featured on dubside 925 cd and other east co co underground stuff. he used to sell those self titled cd's out the trunk. those cd's are from around 2000 - 2001.
