Strange fact around Vice President Dick Cheney.. Jay-Z , Dru
Down and any one else who has adapted the title 'Pimp' or 'Mack of the
Year' have to 'bow down' to Cheney. He's given new meaning to the
phrase 'pimping the system'.

Here's a guy who was the CEO of a company called Halliburton. He
stepped down from his position so he could become George Bush's VP.
Homeboy still gets a million dollars a year from this company in some
sort of drawn out 'defered compensation' plan.. Well to make a long
story short.. This company Cheney headed just got a half billion
dollars to restructure Iraq's oil fields and set up electric grids
after the war.. They presently have on lock, a 2 billion dollar
contract to clean up and restructure things in Afghanistan...But Bush
and his boys keep insisting this is about the LIBERATION of the IRAQI
people and not about oil..

If that's not enough, a subsideray of his company has a huge hundred
million dollar contract to do work in Turkey... Now that's what I call
Big Pimping...Don't go blaming Jigga man and say he's corrupted the
minds and undermined the values of young people.. Blame Tricky Dick
Cheney our Vice President... Of course when he makes shady moves like
that he's considered a shrewd and calculating BUSINESSMAN. It's a
damn shame all this is going on.. Hopefully folks are paying
attention...
One thing that rings true are 2Pac's assertions.. "they can find money
for wars but no money to feed the poor".. Here in Oakland they
can't find no money and are set to fire 1000 teachers.. heck, things
are already bad enough... I guess the overall game plan is to let the
kids fall so far behind that they have no choice but to join the
army... Then they can be the front line foot soldiers that are
deployed to any other country Bush and company want to issue
stern warnings to...

Cheney's Firm Loses Bid for Iraq Oil

In a development that should quash for good rumors that Vice President Dick Cheney and his former firm Halliburton would profit from Iraqi oil contracts, CNN reports that the energy and construction company is out of the running for a $600 million contract to rebuild postwar Iraq, according to the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

Ellen Yount, a USAID spokeswoman, told CNN there are two remaining firms bidding for the contract. She said that no decision has been made on who it will be awarded to. Halliburton, which declined to comment, could still be awarded a subcontractor role.

Newsweek magazine reports that it was unclear whether Halliburton took itself out of the running for the contract, was asked by the Bush administration to do so, or whether its bid was simply not deemed competitive.

Cheney was Halliburton's CEO from 1995-2000. As required by government conflict-of-interest laws, Cheney sold his stock in Halliburton after becoming vice president and could not have profited from any government contracts the company might have obtained – a fact ignored by those who inferred he had a conflict of interest in connection with the Iraq contracts.

Halliburton already got contracts related to Iraqi Oil. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers awarded the contract to Kellogg, Brown & Root -- a division of Halliburton. KBR said it would work in conjunction with Halliburton's Energy Services Group.

This contract that your newsmax article talked about was for rebuilding Iraqi infrastructure after the war. It covers repairing Iraqi health services, ports and airports, and schools and other educational institutions.

Nice try Mcleanhatch.

Halliburton's Iraq role expands

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/3006149.stm

Halliburton's role in post-war Iraq includes operating Iraqi oil fields, new documents have revealed.

Previously, the US Army Corps of Engineers had described the contract given to Halliburton - run by US Vice President Dick Cheney between 1995 and 2000 - as putting out fires at oil wells during the conflict.

The emergency contract for firefighting and capping Iraqi oil wells was awarded to Halliburton without a bidding process in March.

Responding to questions from a US Congressman, the US Army Corps of Engineers has revealed that the contract included "operation of facilities and distribution of products".

In a letter to senior Democrat Henry Waxman on Friday, Army Corps Lt. Gen. Robert Flowers added the contract with Halliburton's subsidiary KBR was a "bridge" to one that is open to other bidders.

"We will limit orders under this contract to those services required prior to the availability of competitively awarded contracts," he wrote

'Helping out'

Halliburton said the wider role for its subsidiary KBR was announced on 24 March, when the deal was made public.

"KBR's initial task involves hazard and operational assessment, extinguishing oil well fires, capping oil well blowouts, as well as responding to any oil spills," the original Halliburton statement said.

"Following this task, KBR will perform emergency repair, as directed, to provide for the continuity of operations of the Iraqi oil infrastructure," it continued.

The Halliburton spokeswoman said KBR was currently assisting Iraq's oil ministry.

"Only now, over five weeks after the contract was first disclosed, are members of Congress and the public learning that Halliburton may be asked to pump and distribute Iraqi oil under the contract," said senior Democrat Henry Waxman, who received the confirmation from the US Army.

New deal

Mr Waxman sits on the House of Representatives' committee on government reform.

Mr Cheney's office has repeatedly denied the vice president had a role in awarding the contract.

The US government has been criticised for its handling of the reconstruction of Iraq because only a select group of US companies have been invited to bid for the contracts.

The US Army Corps of Engineers said the Halliburton deal was a temporary measure before a contract was put out to tender in the coming months.

It expects a replacement contract to be signed by the end of August.

The US Army said in early April that Halliburton had been paid $50.3m out of the contract that could be worth up to $7bn over two years.
