Hell yeah I'm back with some exclusive news from the fonkiest man on the West Coast right now, "Baby George Clinton", Kokane. Most of ya'll know by now that Koka Loco left Dogg House Records a few months ago, due to "business differences" with CEO Snoop Dogg. Well, I asked him about the situation, and he had the following to say: "It just wasn't workin' out with me and Dogg.. He had a different vision of things than I did, and you know, I ain't hatin' on the man, but the way he hanlded his business wasn't right.. Kane continued on to say that if you're trying to be a good CEO, you shouldn't be an artist. "The artist/ceo thing never works out.. Except for Eazy... but he was the greatest ever. If he was around, I would be sellin' millions of copies on my own right now!.
He's cut all ties with DoggHouse and Snoop, but that does not mean he isn't gonna get down with DPG's! You heard him on the brand new Eastsidaz track with Daz called Blue Suede Shoes, and he's also appearing on Bad Azz upcoming record on the song Legendary Life.
You will also hear Kokane on the new Boo Yaa TRIBE album, on a cut with Crooked I and Eastwood. When asked about the rumours of him and Death Row hooking back up, he just said "No. I can tell you, not in this lifetime!". Kane also got a track on the upcoming Kay9ine album, the upcoming Eastside Connected album by Chag G (gotta send out a huge shoutout to Chag G for all the love), Poker Face album (artist from Arizona), on Battlecat's upcoming compilation (we reported on this one in August), and on Suga Free's new album, on the track "High Hills".
Don't get it twisted though, Kokane isn't only the hook man, right now he's been recording for his upcoming solo album. After hundreds of songs he did while on DoggHouse without ever getting his record out (the bootlegg that leaked to the internet was smashing!!), he is now very optimistic. He is shopping for a deal right now to find another home for Kokane, and it's looking really good.
His new album is called "Chicken Grease" and that's all he's been concentratin' on right now, recording tons of songs. The first track off the record, a collaboration with Bad Azz should hit the radio waves soon. The track is called Tell It Like It Is and is a sort of redemption of the Doggystyle Allstars track, just telling the whole truth about the situation. "It ain't no King on the West Coast, just a gang of people strugglin', while one or two people are baller blockin'. I'm not gonna say no names, but that's just the way the game is right now." Tell It Like It Is is produced by KMG from Above The Law, and Kokane himself. Yes that's right!! Above The Law and Kokane are back together!!!
Back to the album, he's got guest appearances by Tray Deee, Eve and many many others, and the production was handled by (oh boy the list is hot!) Battlecat, Fredwreck, Meech Wells, Jellyroll, Above The Law and himself.
So be on the lookout for ALOT of hot shit dropping from Kokane! Oh and for the record, Kokane is NOT a Cocaine addict. "Whoever told you that was trying to detroy my career. I don't touch that shit I got six kids, I'm not doin' no drugs!"
