I used to be into mountain bikes.....I gotta Trek. They are pretty good. They got the cheaper models then they got the nicer ones. Mines a hard tail. Think I got about 1,500 wraped up into mine...

What do you want it for? Are you gonna be going on trails and taking jumps and riding over rocky terrain? If so I would go with a full suspension. If its just for riding around your city or on bike paths I would go with a front suspension only. HOw much you spend depends on how serious you are, Im planning on spending about $1000 on my next bike...

off topic, but y'all seen the dumbasses that put homade spinners on their bikes? I was sittin in the mcdonalds drive thru up the street from me in north oakland, and this foo comes ridin his bike, I thought he was holding two extra tires on his handlebars or something, but then he kinda turns at an angle and you can see that he put extra tire frames on the front tire and aluminum foil between each spoke!

musty - make that 2 and get me 1 as well.

mostly used for city riding and smooth paths. $500- 600 would be the maximum amount i would spend.

cannondales are tight but way too expensive. maybe a marin, any1 got 1 of those?

^I have a Giant right now and I like it a lot. It has no suspension at all, I paid around $600 for it about 5-6 years ago. I would definitely recommend one..

I got a trek fuel 90 for cross country riding and i just picked up a new santa cruz V10 for downhill. I love the trek and think they make excellent bikes, i haven't really gotten a chance to ride the santa cruz as there is still a shit load of snow on all the downhill trails i like to ride
