with damn near every major artists besides keyshia cole, 50 & kanye floppin like crazy....wouldn't most of the artists now days want to grind it out independent.....lets take rick ross for instance...i didnt even know his new shit was out...and hes only pushed 16k....chamillionaire sales dropped rediculously....to the bay artists thats still sellin 20k or under...feel good about your shit.....its time to take it back to the 90's...fuck a major label...YOU BETTER OFF INDEPENDENT:siccness:

thoughts/opinions/positive & negative

use youtube and myspace as a MAJOR tool...
and start releasing INTERNET ONLY albums...
unless they ban CD's and take it back to 8 tracks, vinyl & tapes...i dont see it changin

I wish everybody would go independent. Make these weak money hungry crackas in charge of record labels actually work at finding some talent instead of putting out trash like Soulja boy. I can't wait for mainstream hiphop to just destroy itself and people finally get tired of this bullshit.

It would be nice see all the major labels tank and file bankruptcy or some shit. Fuck the industry period for making artists make gay ass tracks just to get played on the radio.

I can't wait for that excuse to die off. Thats the problem. Cats like him and Kafani don't care about the music. They just care about making a dollar and leaving forever. That is exactly why shit is the way it is now. Brothas be coonin for a dollar. Its embarrassing.

What does everyone think about what Radiohead is doing with their new album? If you don't know, you can read about it here: http://www.nytimes.com/2007/10/04/arts/music/04radi.html

It's an interesting idea, but like they say in the article... It seems like it would only be beneficial for artists with established, loyal fanbases.
it would be cool for any artist to do that.that will make people that download music for free feel more guilty cause YOU have a option to pay what you want.indy artist should look into doing that too.

i aint gonna lie, if artists did what radiohead did i would kick them at leat 5 bucks or something and download it.......instead of just downloading for free...to me its a good idea, although i know some bastard would kick them .99 cents or something. if its a good product, i would drop some ends, not no 17.99, but something to support it.

Having the #1 single nowadays just means that your company is paying urban radio to play the song so many times....Matter of fact, what happened to Hurricane Chris? He also had the "#1 single".....The music game period is not doing all too well in the U.S....Lack of innovation at the corporate level is really causing music sales to slip at a ridiculous pace.....IMO independent artist need to sell their music in countries that seem to have the desire to buy music, cause right now the U.S ain't cuttin' it......

hahaha at vans...wassup wit the new trend people started that made it ok for dudes to wear super tight ass clothes and smedium ass shirts
Cuz grown men started finally dressing like grown men. Most of these rappers are in their mid 20's to mid 30s. The big t shirt and big ass jeans looks corny once you're over a certain age in your life.. Russell Simmons looks like a clown dressing like a teenager at 50.
