I downloaded the whole show and watched this shit... I was hella confused. What happened to rap music? I been listening to Bay music for a minute now and kinda lost track of who was on top of the game in the past 3 or 4 years.

What the fuck was all that? Apart from the West Coast acts, most of the rest of 'em sounded like they couldn't buy a deal. Some nice beats, but damn, cats like this Lil Wayne kid, Rick Ross. Dudes can't even breathe on the mic.

I've been a hip hop fan for a long-ass time since like the eighties and heard so much dope music but a few years ago I decided to stop trying to keep up and just listen to NorCal music since that always bumped along to me.

Looks like I didn't miss nothing. If I go to a club I hear 50 cent mumbling shit like some kind of bad joke, and now I check out an award show and hear no talent having fools like this Ross character who shouldn't even pick up a mic.

I ain't hatin, I'm statin an opinion, it really caught me off guard. If the BET award show is representative of where mainstream rap is then damn it fell the fuck off and is in a sorry state.

Bay cats stay doin your thing.. I hear more energy, enthusiasm and innovation in one good Bay track than a single tune on the BET awards. I'd rather listen to the instrumentals without these weak ass so-called mainstream acts.

And Birdman used to have a few knocks too...
