I guess you are right Gangsta Paradise is...I just never liked that song persoanlly. But that doesn't mean it's not a classic.

Some for your mix...These are newer classics (meaning from between 1990-1996 era)

Black Moon's I Gotcha Open (Remix)
Big L - Ebonics
Nas - Lifes A Bitch
AZ - Mo Money Mo Murder
Wu Tang Clan - C.R.E.A.M.
Smif N Wessun - Bucktown
Group Home - Up Against the Wall (Low Budget Mix)
M.O.P. - Lifestyles of a Ghetto Child
Mobb Deep - Shook One's Pt. 2
Mobb Deep - Eye for a Eye
Big Noyd - Episodes of a Hustla
Big Noyd - Usual Suspect (Strech Armstrong Remix)
Jeru the Damaja - Come Clean
Gravediggaz - 1-800-Suicide
RaeKwon - Heaven and Hell
Killah Priest - B.I.B.L.E. (off of GZA Liquid Swords)
Lords of the Underground - Tick Tock
O.C. - Time's Up

I am sure there are alot I am forgetting. Those are off the top of my head. I will check my cd's when I get home.

techn9nehq stole this idea for a classic hip hop thread from me. I posted it a while back in the Strange forum, it stayed around for a month or so before we named pretty much every fucking hip hop song worth listening to in order to become a fan of the music.

Im just fuckin with ya nick, must get boring around here huh? Funny list though, entertained me for a minute.

Yeah, I don't remember that....i didn't "Steal" this from you. I think it just came out. So how you posted it a while ago, i have no idea.

I got the link from the nfo file of the mp3s that I was going to download until i saw the tracklisting.

But if you want credit i'll add a list of Works Cited.

On a side note, you ever meet a trendy white college hipster who thinks he's an expert on all forms of music. Typically, they have Bach next to the Gorillaz back to back on their iPOD. You ask them about hip hop and they squint, look all serious, and then recommend you a "classic" list of songs just like that Walmart one.
