Garden state was alright I guess. Good acting but not my sort of movie. I heard Shaun of the dead is hilarious but its not out on DVD here yet. Troy is excellent.

Recently I picked up I-Robot which I thought was really good and I have been hiring alot of weekly rentals lately like Death to Smoochy, Battle Royale and Equilibrium. All 3 of these are good flicks. Death to Smoochy is some real funny shit Battle Royale some real savage japanese shit (funny as hell too) and Equilibrium got some great gun fights.

I'm scared to see Troy because i know it'll suck (being that i've read the real Illiad and am a big fan of "the greatest epic ever!", i don't want to see it destroyed)

Haven't seen many good NEW movies lately because they all suck. Gotta go back to the new version of Dawn of the Dead to be the best newer movie i've seen.

But . . .

Best new to DVD movie i rented lately is Battle of Algiers - it's a classic in political film and a must see if you want to understand things happening in Iraq. This will give you historical perspective.

Best newer movie i rented lately is Go Tigers! it'll change the way you view high school football. A must see for anyone that played the game in high school or anyone that just enjoys football a little bit. Movie is crazy, funny, schocking, well made. It's the Hoop Dreams of football.

Best classic movie i rented lately is Paths of Glory Stanly Kubrik movie about WWI and three men in the french army accused of being cowards and are set to be executed for it.

. . . Yes i have netflix :cheeky:

The Grudge was one of the most awful movies I've ever seen.

I just checked out a movie called "Employee of the month", that was fuckin' fantastic.

From IMDB.com:

Plot Summary for
Employee of the Month (2004)
"Employee of the Month" is about a guy (Matt Dillon) whose day spirals from bad to worse when he gets fired from his dream job at the bank and is dumped by his fiancee Sara (Applegate). David's best friend Jack (Zahn) tries to convince him it's for the best, but the opposite occurs when bank robberies and millions of dollars become part of his day from hell.

Cast overview, first billed only:
Matt Dillon .... David Walsh
Steve Zahn .... Jack
Christina Applegate .... Sara Goodwin
Andrea Bendewald .... Wendy
Dave Foley .... Eric
Jay Leggett .... Dorff
David Pasquesi .... Kyle Lacopa
Peter Jason .... Bill Gartin
Paul Dooley .... Reverend Ben Goodwin
Noel Gugliemi .... Chicken (as Noel Guglielmi)
Renee Albert .... Martha
Enrique Almeida .... Ruben
Mark Beltzman .... Hank
Brian Blondell .... Paulo, the Waiter
John Timothy Botka .... Yuppie

Really good shit. It's a dark comedy with plot twists straight through the credits. Best indie I've seen since Boondock Saints.

This movie was iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight...they left too many holes in the plot...i understand a movie with twists is supposed to leave you guessing...but this one left me wonderin how all that shit went down and what the intentiones were of everyone...kinda pissed me off...Wild Things was better...

Most of the movies mentioned I have yet to see.. but I have been meaning to rent Day After Tomorrow..

So whats the deal with Netflix? ..cost more, less..? you just order a grip of flicks, they send them, you watch them and send them back..? you have to pay one fee every month or..?
