Modem
Motorola SB5101U

Router
D-Link DIR-615

I've had the router for awhile, no problems with it that I can recall. Even though it's wireless, I go wired for the Xbox. I've had the modem for a couple months, and haven't had a problem with it either.

I don't know if Comcast fucked up (or did it on purpose), or if it's the modem/router combo, but we pay for 12 Mbps and regularly get anywhere from 16 to 20 Mbps.

Dude at comcast told me that one was garbage and they have had more issues with that then any other router...
I call bs from my experience, when I had Comcast I had the modem below and it would ALWAYS reconnect me in the middle of a GOW match. Maybe because I didn't have a router, but that modem by itself was horrible for me.

I'm talkin bout that black cisco ROUTER.. I honestly don't even know how you would go straight through the modem? Never had major issues with the modem, but i think mines different? Last time dude from comcast came out i was thinkin bout gettin an 8 port router and asked what he suggested. He said the black oval shaped ones from cisco gave more people problems then any other one in his experience of hooking up internet. I got a lil blue 4 port linkseys befsr41.. i never really have connection problems but i don't even see "wired" routers for sale anymore? I'm not sure if they still make it..

i got a an old wrt54g linksys....it does the job...not eye candy but works...i disabled UPNP as well as opened up key ports so it works great...plus setup is real easy...i keep wired connections to both 360/ps3.....WIRELESS does work well but it not the greatest for streaming large files
