Best audio recording programs??

ok i just wanna know a good and easy audio recording program for my laptop.. just to mess around and experiment wit.... only one i ever used was cool edit and it was easy and effective..... any know any good ones tho so i can buy one?? on a side note tho who can hook me up wit a cool edit download or crack or whatever... help me out im tryin to record some shit on my own.... when im ready and complete a few songs i'll redo them in studio but for now im tryin to experiment on my own.......

Cubase Sx3 is what i use....one of the best besides pro tools.....also use Samplitude and Sonar sometimes.....

Check out Adobe Audition (they bought Cool Edit and improved it).

for what your talking about Sonar 6 Producer Edition be what you want. pro tools you gotta buy there fucking hardware to use it, myself i use nuendo
