I use the word "musician" lightly, because I doubt most of the people in SD's current rap scene know how to play instruments.

While i was headed to vegas a few days ago i realized that theres alot of prospects in SD..that is apparent when listening to compilations such as rap or die's south east streets....in this conversation i'm not looking at the jayo felonies and the mitchys, because outside of SD theyre heard of.

to give a idea, what i'm looking for goes beyond having super-duper lyrics and inpenetrable street cred, and possibly goes into less mentioned subjects like creativity, work ethic, and a good ear for music (yes, in gangsta rap this IS possible..).....who do you think can put together the best album or mixtape, regardless of who hears it or who's up on the particular artist? who continues to impress you..?

whos made a song that stuck out?

remember, were not looking at who's gonna put san diego on the map. were looking at whos shining on the low and will continue to shine, based on the fact that he/shes a talented artist.

it could even be your homeboy that no ones up on, who might read this and not expect to be mentioned...2007 is a new year....who's our draft picks?

who's the diamond in the rough ?

Well, Dido Brown has impressed me and it seems most have overlooked him. Check out his latest album called "Talez Of A Young Brown Male." The overall vibe is Gangsta, but the beats and everything are just really clean, it's some quality $hit IMO.

Ecay Uno is another.

yeah, one of the people who really impress me is young sau. ill play his song on south east streets before most of the others. i think if dude got the right beats, hed really work out. ive mentioned that to junk a few times.i wont mention any others until this thread takes off.

i just wanna see if people thinkin the same thing as me as far as talent..

youre not going off topic, thats sticking with it.

we have a boiling pot of talent and its boiling over, to me....

its just boiling over on a stove that no ones watching..
thats kinda why i asked....you know...

i didnt expect cee wee 3 to put out such a good mixtape, much less for my homie to host it. (dj synical) no offense to my best friend of course, but it was fire. regardless of the fact i heard 7 of the songs before it dropped...i know everyone else didnt.

thats some real info right there...we've got alot of talent....i'm glad to hear someone vouch for an unheard of audience, especially someone whos gone outside of SD.....some of these rappers might not think they can hold the torch when in reality they can if they wanted to...

a nigga out in idaho might hear your track and be impressed farther than you know...

much respect irocc..i see you out there doin ya thing...keep bieng a part of this SD puzzle piece...

rasan, 2006 started off right....but the new slogan for 2007 is "its 2007...." we gotta look at 2006 as a stepping stone...no more 2006 shit carrying on in 2007...

Lordbryon, its not about who i feel, man...im SD born and raised...everyone in this city impresses me. i'll always rep my city and everything in it.

I was reppin the chargers when they was losin' hard. how many of yall used the chargers on madden no matter what? thought so.

If i was to talk about San Diego id hold everyone and everything in high regard. thats why i made this thread, to get a non-biased opinion on the rappers here.

if you heard it from me, i think were the best in the west.

but eventually, ill give my opinion...i just dont think it matters as much as yalls opinion.

THAS WHY I CALL DAGO THE FORGOTTEN CITY BECAUSE WHEN IT COMES TO CALIFORNIA... SAN DIEGO GETS THE LEAST CREDIT AND THE LEAST RECOGNITION.... BUT ITS ALSO AN UNTAPPED SOURCE OF RAP WHERE U CAN FIND A BUNCH OF CATS WIT HELLA FLOW... HELLA GAME.... AND HUSTLE....MOST OF THE RAPPERS THAT ARENT NOTICED IS BECAUSE THEY DONT KNOW HOW TO GET NOTICED... THAS WHY ITS IMPORTANT FOR RAPPERS THAT HAVE EXPOSURE TO PUT NIGGAS UP ON GAME JUS AS IMPORTANT IS THESE NEW RAPPERS TO SOAK UP GAME .....BUT THE TALENT I SEE IS

GRANZLAM....
MARTY MACPHLY....
YOUNG SAU....
BOSSMANHOGG....

O YEAH MY NIGGA ADONIS ... 16 YEARS OLD!!!... HELL OF A FUTURE IN FRONT OF THAT DUDE FO REAL FO REAL...

THAS JUS SOME OFF TOP I CAN NAME THAT IMPRESSES ME... THAT HASNT REALLY BEEN HEARD OR EXPOSED YET
