maybe you should run firefox as opposed to IE

delete your unnecessary programs especially if it has all them programs that came with the PC

or simply run a system restore if the problem just popped up out of nowhere

those are basic fixes

Firefox is slow compared to Google Chrome... cuz it has too many addons on Firefox...

Yo, WestBaySav, first download... this and register it... it's free and will clean off any spyware and viruses... Avast Antivirus... it auto updates, and auto scans all the time on your computer... making sure your shit is clear...

Then download Google Chrome after Avast clears off any viruses if you have any... I promise shit will work 100% better after do this...

Yeah sounds like the quickest solution would be to reinstall windows.

Otherwise do the following:

Get spybot search and destroy
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/

Get adaware
http://www.lavasoft.de/products/ad_aware_free.php

Update both products. Disconnect your PC from the internet. Run one and have it do a full scan. Run the other and have it do a full scan. This process will take several hours. Reboot if it says to reboot.

I've also heard good things about malwarebytes, though I've never used it.

Or, if at any point in the history of your computer, you were surfing the internet and magically your computer said it had a virus and you clicked "OK", you probably got suckered into downloading a virus.

Combofix is supposed to be good for notoriously difficult-to-remove programs, but I haven't used it. Follow these instructions:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix

Also, get Firefox and the adblock addon. Chrome may be good, but you'll still get bombarded by shitty ads while on the net. Firefox with adblock fixes it that.

During start up just hit f11 or f12 repeatedly. I forget which one but you will come to a screen to reformat the pc. It basically takes you back to the beginning. I would do a back up of all your info first but your stuff will work a lot better afterwards. Another thing you can do make your pc a little faster is get some more ram, delete Norton Anti Virus cause its a pc hog, get an external HD and put all your info on that instead of on your c drive, defrag your pc often, and try to keep your cd drive less than half full. It seems to work for me.
