There is no best. Use whatever you feel comfortable using and I guess you can call that the best for you.

I'll offer you this, just in case you're one of those cats that thinks if they get software X, their beats will magically be 1000x better... You can teach a monkey to make a beat, and no software in the world will give you musical talent you don't have to begin with...

exactly, if you know what you are doing and have real artistic vision any program could be the best at making beats.

I like Reason, is it the best program for making beats? I don't know but its the best one for me.

dont laugh...

but if you know how to use fruity loops thats hella simple....

it can host vsti'ss now, so just go to kvraudio.com and read up on vsti's, or fill it up wit a bunch of samples, and try that...

battery is good for drums

korg legacy is good for a wide variety of sounds.. and they pretty much hit the nail on the head when it comes to 'replicating' the old synths (ms-20.. poly six.. but the legacy cell is killen em)

just go and read around...

when you wanna come up wit a quick idea, its good for that
