First and foremost, I want to thank everybody on facebook who has dropped by to celebrate my little brothers life. I sincerely hope that all of you understand he would truly appreciate all your kind words, condolences, and the support you have shown for him and our family in our time of need and grief. If you were lucky enough to have been blessed with the opportunity to meet lil bay or come into contact with him in any way, shape, form, or fashion, then you know you were in the presence of greatness and all that is good.
Nasheed was a beautiful human being. He was kind, considerate, honest, real, and a man of his word. An intelligent individual full of life and energy, he was extremely talented. He loved and respected all women because thats what our mother taught us to do. Though he had no kids its a well known fact that my brother loved kids no matter who's they were. He would make sure they either had a T-shirt or one of his c.d.'s and if nothing else at least $5 in their pocket. But most important of all was he took the time to give each and everyone of them encouraging words. He showed not only them but us too, that we can all rise above any obstacles that life places in front of us and be successful. Look at me and how I shine, especially considering where we came from.
This whole senseless situation has left me and my family with a broken heart. As devastated as his mother, sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews, and everybody who had nasheed in their lives are, we celebrate his life, because we know in our hearts that he never let us down. He was the last child, the foundation to the structure of my family, and clearly his death is nothing less of a tragedy. When you heard about him passing away everything else in your life stopped. It was something you didn't want to hear or believe but you will forever remember where you were, what you had on, and who it was that gave you the news, that lil bay was dead. Gunned down and killed in his prime. We all know he didn't deserve to die, let alone be murdered in such an ugly way. They ripped our Tupac and Malcom X away from us before he was able to change the world in and around the streets he grew up in.
As for me, my little brother took care of me this whole time i've been in prison making sure I had everything I ever needed. Last time i saw my saw my little brother we were in prison in the same cell. He had 8 months to do and I had 11 years. We cried together, read books together, wrote songs, and just talked about how we wanted to educate and uplift everybody through our music. When my head was really fucked up at the time he kept me strong and he told me, Bro you are always going to live through me and my music, and for that I am grateful and truly proud of him.
He left so much of his heart in his music for us to bump that we will learn from. If you had any love for lil bay loc its your job to keep his memory and legacy alive. He did his part he left us the music now its up to us to make sure the world hears his message. I need each and every one of you to help me do this because his shoes are just to big for one person to fill. He was my little brother but he was the one that took care of me and I looked up to him.
I had the chance to talk to my little brother not even 30 or 45 minutes before he was assassinated and we had a beautiful conversation that i will never forget it.
I will share this one thing with you all... Cutthroat aka Lil Bay Loc wanted the world to know he changed his name to "Hood". That means my new name is "Lil Hood". But no matter his name he was a beautiful person and he will be deeply missed. My little Brother!
H.I.P Big Hood, you were the ultimate hoodstar and I give you my undying word that you will never be forgotten. Bullet Proof Love!
Bay Loc aka Lil Hood
