BAY AREA in New SCRATCH MAGAZINE!! DJ Juice & Balance Mixtapes + "Tha Hu$tlaz Anthem"
Got the call today from DJ Juice, and then went and picked up a few copies for myself. The brand new issue of SCRATCH MAGAZINE which is a magazine owned and is put out through XXL MAGAZINE which has Just Blaze on the cover has reviews of DJ Juice's "BAY AREA MIXTAPE" Vol. 2 Hosted By Laroo Tha Hard Hitta, and Balance's "Bay Area Mixtape King."
Now remember this is a biased magazine coming out of New York so for them to even put these in there is an accomplishment. They showed some decent love to the DJ Juice Mixtape, saying "this is a very good attempt to revive the West and it's very underrated Bay Area." Also during the review, they only mentioned two of the songs on the mixtape, one was "Say Bitch" by the Delinquents and Too $hort, and the other was my song "Tha Hu$tlaz Anthem," they said "The Anthem will get a nigga hype."
I know it's short and modest, but at least it's in there. This is the first Bay Area Mixtape by a Bay Area DJ to be put into SCRATCH and recieve a review. And it received the highest rating you can get which is "hood."
Balance however didn't fair so well, they went pretty hard on his mixtape and gave it a bad rating, but hey, sometimes all press is good press, at least it's in there.
From my side of it though, I'm proud that out of every song on the DJ Juice mixtape, my song was one that stood out to them East Coast writers, and they mentioned it in the review. Shouts and thanks to everybody that helped make that track happen, San Quinn, Sean T, Nasty Nate, Keak Da Sneak, Knocademus, Balance, P.O., The Frontline, Mistah F.A.B., Mr. Kee, JT The Bigga Figga, etc......
