Can someone recommend any software for learning these two instruments. I did a Google and came up with lot of crap. Or, should I just look into an instructor? If I went the instructor route, what's the going rate on Bass guitar lessons?

thats great man... i play piano, guitar and bass guitar... bass was a breeze for me to learn.. BUT that was because i was playing the 6 string guitar for years... i would say learn the regular guitar first..just like the basics (scales, chords ect..) once u learn the guitar, the bass will be very easy to pick up, since the strings are tuned to the same notes as the regular guitar just at a lower octave(E.A.D.G.B.E).... :chinese:
