I just got a call from Backdoor Disc in Cotati telling me that the Record Store is closing down and come down there and get a check before it is too late and Corporate won't cut one.

I bet they are going to be having a Huge Closeout Sale. I also have seen Big Oso Loc, Lil Coner and Ace Of Spits projects on the shelves so if you cats got product on the shelves down there please go get it, and if they owe you a check please go get that check cut before they up and disappear like so many other Record Stores have done (don't want to see any hard working artists or labels lose out on their money).

Yeah im gonna have to go up there and see what they got...Backdoor was the shit back in the day, they had every bay cd...sad but theres just no business for cd stores anymore

Told you guys man. And them telling someone to re-up their consignment when they "know" that they are shutting down just is not right. I like everyone over there and they have done right by me, but I had to let everyone know and it looks like I did the correct thing. Now everyone can go get their projects back and collect their money. Us as Artists and Labels can not lose that money in this economy. Glad that I could give you catz the word and save you at least a small hit in your product stock and pockets.

Went out there Saturday Evening. Picked up some units and got my paperwork faxed over to the Corporate Office for my check.

When I was in the back office I saw Smokielocs compilations boxed up in the back ready to be picked up and I saw all the Ace Of Spits cd's boxed up and ready to be picked up. Dude was like if cats don't come pick their cd's up they will either be shipped to the Corporate Office or tossed in the Dumpster.

Also they are having a fat sale. 30% to 50% off everything in the store. Cd's, DVD's, Magazines, Candy, Toys (on the back wall in the left hand side of the store). It was packeddddddd.

Yeah the music business as far as physical sales is gone. Cd's are a relic. Digital Download and Ringtones are still soaring. Thing is that it takes so long to get paid from Ringtones. I get paid from my Verzion Wireless Ringtones every 3-Months.
