On July 14, while at the Seminole Indian Reservation Casino in Tampa, Florida, Renato “Babalu” Sobral was arrested and charged with two misdemeanors, one for battery and the other for trespassing as confirmed by police reports and from members of the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Department when reached for contact by MMAWeekly.com
The arrest was made by members of the Seminole Indian Reservation police department and Sobral was released on $1,000 bond for the offense.
When reached for comment, members of both the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s office and officers from the Seminole Indian Reservation police force confirmed the arrest and the misdemeanor charges stemming from an incident at the casino on Saturday night.
Babalu was last seen fighting in a losing effort to Jason Lambert at UFC 68 and is currently slated to take on David Heath as part of the UFC 74 card in Las Vegas on August 25th.
