If you don't know about this already, you need to do some homework and go back and research the wonderful moves Kontac has been making for the communities in and outside of the Bay Area. I have so much respect for what he is doing right now for the kids and for the communities, he is truly a boss. While everybody sits around and complains about rap stuff, this guy is out making things happen, and working with everybody from politicians to rappers to community leaders and the kids who will become them. He's also a teacher. And he doesn't do any of it to gain a profit for himself, he is one of the few people left who truly want to make a difference and help people. There will be no profits made off of this single, all money generated from it goes directly back into the school systems in the Bay Area. I'm proud that I could be a part of this project. Keep making those moves Kontac.

This will make a difference, that's already in motion, just by the great outpouring of people who have gotten behind it already and it hasn't even been released yet.

Kontac, I know you're not really a name dropper, but I think it would really help to put things in perspective if people really knew who and what you have behind this. Give these cats a run down on some of the people you have talked to, interviews you have done, and companies who support it. Politicians, entertainers, schools, athletes, publications, websites, television, radio, etc etc etc.

I don't think people fully understand how big this really is.

In my humble opinion, this track had to be recorded, especially since Bay Area artists are musically getting the attention of the kids again. They are paying more attention to us as artists than they are to their teachers so we gotta feed em somtehin positive while they'll listen, and hopefully take heed. Each cat spittin on this track has experienced similar situations being that we ourselves grew up in the same communities and attended these same poorly run schools. Every artist on this track at some point has wanted to give back to his community in some type of fashion, and this track was the perfect oppurtunity to do just that.

17 years ago, Ice Cube asked a question on one of his songs, "Why More Brothers in Jail than in College"? I personally find it disturbing that with so much time passing since the question was originally posed that we still don't have a clear cut answer. When the local government turns a deaf ear to the outcry of the streets, at some point, we have to speak for the people. Mac & A.K. was honored and proud to be a part of a history making situation that I think is gonna have a long lasting affect on todays youth. It's casualties in all wars, but if one kid finds this song just as hip as anything else they listen to, the job was done.
