This summer, Wired writer Evan Ratliff wrote a story about how people erase their identities and start over. After it ran, he tried to disappear—spending 25 days on the lam until a few enterprising Wired readers tracked him down through some brilliant hacking and sleuthing.

Now we’re going to try the experiment again. Evan, Wired, Loneshark Games and I are working with Universal Pictures to do another, similar contest connected to the new film Repo Men: and this time we want you to go on the run. We need four applicants willing to disappear from their lives from late February to late March. If they can stay hidden for that time period, they’ll end up with $10,000 each. There’s more information, and an application, here. We’ll need to recruit hunters soon too; but now we just need folks who are willing to drop their lives and go.

it is some effort and planning for not that much money. but really if u had a legit spot and a friend to go out and get food.... it wouldnt be that tough.

guy made it tougher by traveling everywhere. post in the cut for a month and collect the 10 racks.

lol one of my homies has been on the lam for 5 years

they should give him a million

him and many others.

its different hiding from lazy cops with lists of guys to catch. and with less help from the public.

this shit would have a bunch of fools workin together doing it for the love of trying to catch u.

yeah you're right

i didnt think about the fact that its like a contest where all these people would be searching you down

no cell phone. no car with gps. no internet. no mail. no credit/debit. no atms. no gas stations with cameras. no stores with cameras. no enhanced id card with microchip. no flu shot with microchip. no family. no friends. no grocery store reward cards, the list goes on. i used to live just a couple of steps away from that type of life... lol they got me in the system though... gotta keep my job, im addicted to cash and spending money

Read rule number 7 also,

"7. I will not collude with family, friends or any third parties regarding my activities as a Runner."
