i know most of us are hip to the eBay password/credit card scams but this one is completely different and almost got me. here is the email ..

From: [email protected] Add to Address Book
Subject: Question from eBay Member
This email was sent by an eBay member via eBay's email forwarding system. If you reply to the email, your response will go directly to the member and not through eBay.

If this email is an offer to sell an item without winning it on the eBay Web site (including "second chance offers" sent through this email system) please do not respond to the sender.
These "off-eBay" transactions are unsafe and not covered by eBay purchase protection programs.

Never pay for your eBay item using instant cash transfer services such as Western Union or MoneyGram.
These payment methods are unsafe when paying someone you do not know.

they send it as a "question from ebay member" email and say that they just paid. i just ended a pretty big auction so i clicked the link to see what cd was his and it asked me to sign in. luckily i looked at the top and saw that it wasn't an eBay address. be on the lookout ..

On Topic: I havent slep in almost 48 hours so im kinda slow, can someone fill me in on how was he trying to scam you? get you to send an album he pretended to pay for?

thanks for the warning, i wouldn't even thought that was a scam.

sentenced, the email he's talking about isn't even a buyer that's emailing him, it's from someone trying to get his ebay username and password. usually you can tell if it's a hoax by looking at the web address even if the link they give you looks like a ebay link, it's really a link to a different webpage.
