Well I don't think it'd happen that way but the reason I can think of is the fact that the A's need a new baseball stadium (not a multi-purpose facility) and the only place they could do it would be somewhere outside of Oakland. But I don't know, just speculating.

OAKLAND COLLISEUM was a beautiful stadium until Mount Davis got put up. Back in the days you could see the hills in the background that gave the atmosphere a nice look.
