THe A's get Ted Lilly from NY, The Tigers get Carlos Pena, and the Skankees get Jeff Weaver.

The yankees practically just got a huge steal when they got Weaver. Weaver was a good pitcher on a bad team.

But the A's really improved, Ted Lilly is a huge boost. I think he's going to come in and start and Lidle will be traded.

My thoughts about this trade:

First off good to get another picther for Lidle, I'm sure he will be traded soon. Second, why the fuck didn't they take Weaver? Weaver is a much better picther than Lilly and I would never trade anybody to a team that has beat me in the last two playoffs. I don't know if they A's are setting up something even bigger, but I wouldn't have made this trade. Sure Lilly is a decent pitcher, but he throws up some grapefruits sometimes. I would have kept Weaver. Carlos Pena never even got the chance to shine with the A's. They were expecting too much from him and too young an age. Scott Hatteberg has been great at first, but I don't think he's the first baseman of the A's future.

Hopefully the A's are setting up something big with a trade involving Lidle. Maybe Lilly will improve the rotation, but I wouldn't count on it too much.

Late!

lilly 1 hit the mariners earlier this year... but then again, even a blind squirrel finds a nut.

even though lidle is shittin the bed, i think he is startin to come around. i say send harang down and let lilly take his spot in the rotation. harang is a young arm, and even though his record is good, he still needs more time to develop.

basically i dont think lidle would draw much interest from any team in a trade... give him a few more starts, see if he can improve.
