MANILA, Philippines – Manny Pacquiao’s conditioning coach Alex Ariza took a swing at boxing promoter Bob Arum for allegedly preventing the fight between the Filipino boxing icon and archrival Floyd Mayweather Jr. from happening.

Ariza claimed that Arum only wanted Pacquiao to fight Top Rank’s boxers so that Top Rank will get all the profits.

“It’s clear as to why the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight has never happened. It's always about what's best for Bob and his agenda… Whoever Manny fights, he has to fight in-house,” Ariza told Fighthype.com’s Ben Thompson.

Ariza claimed that another reason why Arum is opposing a Mayweather fight because of his hatred towards the unbeaten boxer and his handlers.
Ariza said Arum does not want Mayweather to make a dime out of Pacquiao.

“Arum hates Floyd Mayweather, can't stand him, he doesn't want to see him make a dollar, can't stand Golden Boy, doesn't want to do business with them,” he said.

Pacquiao earlier announced that talks for the Mayweather fight are now ongoing.

He said he sent his adviser, Michael Koncz, to talk to Arum about the superfight.

However, Ariza claimed that Koncz is in cahoots with the boxing promoter.

“I know that Michael Koncz says that he's having a meeting with Bob to negotiate the Mayweather fight. They're having a meeting on how to make sure that this fight doesn't happen. That's what their meeting is about,” said Ariza.

Ariza said he and boxing coach Freddie Roach have been actively pursuing the Mayweather fight because it will be good for Pacquiao.

He said putting Pacquiao in another rematch against Juan Manuel Marquez is bad strategy.

“If Manny wants to fight Floyd and if he fights Floyd, and hypothetically loses to Floyd, the Marquez fight is still there,” explained Ariza.

If this info has already been posted before...sorry for the dup. But I think this clearly puts the blame on Arum and the Pacquiao Team and ultimatley Manny Pacquiao. Pacquiao knows full well he and Arum have stalled the Mayweather fight for financial reasons because once Manny loses this gravy train is over. Manny is the blame for ALL this waiting and debating and the reason is or reasons are simple: 1- He has a life stlye to support with all his high end cars he loves to purchase 2- He is a welfare system to half the Philonpines 3- Why not make Floyd your very last fight after you have milked all the was up, weight drained fighters you can dig up?

If some one in the heart of your camp has broken their silence ie. a whistle blower then you have to look at what's being said by that mole. Now the one thing Ariza didn't comment on is the steriod issue...that may be a little to close to home since that would bring light on him as he is the strength and conditioning coach. The "Steriod Gate" issue can still ring true in this tale of the tape...why not everthying else that was speculated has surfaced to the top? Arum is blocking the fight, Pacquiao has allowed Arum to block the fight while hiding behind bullshit excuses, Freddy Roach is the cherry picking coach of ALL time...and Manny more than ever seems guilty of cheating...PEDs abuse. I know snicthing aint cool but for this one time, Ariza should be thanked fort manning up where Manny couldn't. Floyd Mayweather Jr's should be publicly exonerated criticism should be be retracted and all who doubted him should opologize for your reckless assasination of his character...after all he is a perfect 43-0. Last victory was 5 days ago when this article surfaced.

k cool story, but post it in the appropriate thread is all. Not everyone in the combat forum wants to see multiple pac-floyd threads on the first page.

Here is an article from today:

Pacquiao says Floyd deal 'almost done'

ESPN
November 30, 2011

WBO welterweight king Manny Pacquiao claims there are only a few "little things" to sort out before he signs to fight Floyd Mayweather Jnr in Las Vegas on May 5 next year.

This week WBC champion Mayweather suggested everything was done on his side, and that he was just waiting for Pacquiao to agree to drug-testing demands.

The last round of negotiations broke down over this issue, with Mayweather wanting sampling to go on for longer than Pacquiao was willing to permit. The Filipino said that losing blood too close to fight night would affect his performance in the ring.

However, the Pacquiao camp have stressed in recent months that their man is ready to go along with the American's requirements - and now it seems the bout is very close to confirmation.

"We are ready," Pacquiao told abs-cbnnews.com. "If it pushes through, once he signs the contract then I'll sign the contract. Only the little things are being worked out and negotiations are almost done."

Following Pacquiao's controversial points win against Juan Manuel Marquez earlier this month, there was clamour for a rematch. Pacquiao's promoter Bob Arum, who has made no secret of his disdain for Mayweather, seemed keen on the idea.

However, trainer Freddie Roach and conditioning supremo Alex Ariza reportedly wanted Pacquiao to face Mayweather instead - and they appear to have got their wish.

Yep, bottom line it's Manny Pacquiao's fault the fight hasn't happened because he's allowing Arum to block the fight, period.

Whoops, didn't see that post that 206 posted until after I posted.

Looks like we have a fight, Manny caved in to the pressure that Floyd put on him.

Why are we focusing on how many posts or threads are created when we need to focus on who has been screwing around these last few years in regards to this fight not jumping off?

Floyd put him on the spot and trapped him into a corner and the only way out is to fight, period.

Now you got someone in Pacquiao's camp that is telling it like it is. We (Floyd) fans have been saying this for the last few years, only to be called groupies. Looks like Manny fans are the real groupies/tea baggers.

because it's annoying to have so many pac-floyd threads in the combat forum, simple as that. There are already 3 active pac-floyd threads on the first page of this forum, it shouldn't be too difficult to copy & paste an article into an active thread rather than creating a new thread which will have the exact same discussion as the other threads.

This is a combat sports forum (MMA, Boxing, Kicking Boxing, etc.), not a pacquiao-mayweather forum.

@206, why you never complain when they are threads created to bash Mayweather (like the one you created about the countdown when they were already threads about Pacquiao/Mayweather)

It seems you get irritated when negative threads get created about Manny.

am I wrong or am I right? I've complained about the same thing in the past numerous times, I tell people all the time to post in the appropriate threads. People always bitch about being tired of reading the same old shit and I know there are a lot of people who come to this forum specifically for news, they don't want to read the same old stuff over and over.

The only threads I create are the boxing schedules and polls on big fights and every now and then some news story that's interesting, you don't see me post new floyd/pac threads.

No, Mods should be unbiased!!
I don't care if it's me or someone else, but this forum does need a mod. Personally I don't care if someone is pac fan a floyd fan or talks a gang of shit, whatever most of that stuff is just in fun and good humor but the forum is too cluttered with bs that could easily be merged into a single thread or two.

Ask all the MMA guys on here if they are annoyed of seeing 50 pac-floyd threads. There a bunch of people in here that could care less.

I'm sorry to say this folks but "I don't know where my money is going" Manny has no fucking idea about any deal at all. First it's talk to my promoter, and now he's talking about a deal being almost done. It's hard for a deal to get made when Top Rank is not even talking to Team Mayweather to make the fight. It's all media games by Top Rank to save face in the public eye.

Top Ranks and there lies.

1. We want to make the Marquez 4, then Mayweather after.
2. Manny is not going to talk about the fight until after the holiday.
3. We have groups of investor wanting to pay for the fight.
4. Koncz talked to Mayweather about the deal.
5. Manny saying we are close to making the deal to fight Mayweather.

Top Rank and Team Manny is doing all this but yet they won't return phone calls from Team Mayweather or Golden Boy about making the fight.

IF ANYONE BELIEVE THIS BULLSHIT YOU'RE A DUMB MOTHERFUCKER..

I'm sure Manny fans will believe bullshit again. Watch Top Rank never sit down with Mayweather to make the fight, then when Mayweather gets sick of waiting and picks someone else to fight, watch the Top Rank and the Manny teabaggers pull up this article as proof Manny was not ducking Maywether.

We have heard all this bullshit for 2 years now by Top Rank and Team Manny.
