Just curious to see if anyone still buys comps.I rarely buy them anymore,but occasionally I'll pick one up if it's got a bunch of artists who have'nt released much stuff.I won't touch a compilation if it has the same 20 kats who are on compilation after compilation.It's like a slap in the face to hear the same click of m.c.'s keep puttin out bullshit,over and over.I'll pick shit up like "Who Got It",and The K.V.E. comps,cuz they bring alot of new artists to the forefront.

I don't unless I know that they are something that was put together with some attention to the quality. The ones that just come out real quick out of nowhere, I can't fuck with.
The ones I'm lookin' forward to right now are Theme Music To Drug Dealins And Killins from Apartment 3 and BART To The 91Siccness from Tact Out Muzic. I know the effort put into both of these. They're not just rushed out and full of a bunch of shit.

that's why ABOVE THA REST has decided to go straight into our solo's instead of a group album/compilation release first.....we need to prove we can produce a quality album on our own....

well in the business world the comp wont make it to the shelf if the big names aint listed first so if u own a business / label and put the upcming artist first u might be makeing a ignorant business move by putting them first, cuz retailers (the ones that buy ur music and put it on the shelfs) will not oreder or may not order as many, so instead of having 20-30 on the shelf u might have zero or 3 on the shelf........take ur pick......from a business mov i will take 20-30

far as northern cali it's always b-legit,spice 1 those two always on comps,daz,sumbody from mobfigaz.
oh i forgot i heard sumthing about a garden blocc ridaz comp i'll pick that up cause i know there's more talent comin out the blocc.
oh and west coast mafia that was the last comp i got and i like that one.
other than that northern cali comps are played out.

I feel everybody that says they WONT buy one for the simple fact that too many comps fuck people over period. I cant stand the "phone in a track" comps. "Hey, I got a comp, can you send me a song for it? It doesnt matter what it sounds like, just make sure so and so is on it...". I saw a comp the other day that had like 5 of Tactouts songs from the 2Sicc comp, and the rest were songs from other comps, even had the nerve to rename one of Coug and Baldheads songs.
Hopefully the consumers will see that the "Theme Music..." is ALL brand new stuff with a few that have never been released before, never heard. NO RECYCLING over here!!
