The problem with humans and discovering shit will be solved with robots. I think one day well see something that can go to the bottom. Crazy shit down there!!!! Giant spider things and shit.

The rain forrest will be destroyed before we find the stuff in there if you ask me.

No, man will not reach the bottom of the ocean.

The air pressure raises exponentially the farther down you go, and as it stands right now we cannot even get halfway down to the ocean floor. The pressure on the bottom of the ocean is so great it is measured in TSI (tons per square inch) instead of PSI (pounds per square inch), and we cannot even get as deep as 1 TSI, whereas the bottom of the ocean is over 8 TSI.

The average depth of the ocean is just over 2 miles, and the deepest known point is 7 miles. That's why the "deep sea" (anything below 600 feet) area of the ocean we can't get to is called "inner space", because the bottom of the ocean is ironically farther from us and more impossible to reach than "outer space".

How is it that the humans, or the robots could be doing the solving, when God created Humans?

maybe some superior being has decided that we dont have any business down there, but it would be neat to see some of the things down there....unless it was deadly organisms and sh-t down there.

right...i've always wanted to know whats down there really...i mean all we know is big fishes like sharks and shyt...maybe there is a way to get down there it's just gonna take time to figure out how to get down there and see whats really down there...if we get down pass 2 miles everything is goin to be dark so how are we gonna be able to see ? we need some type of robot that has lights and put a video in something too see whats really down there...daam though could be some aliens living under water or those super huge spiders that are 10 x bigger then a tralantula...hopefully we'll get half way one of these days daam ...

@Vyasadeva, ROBOTS built by humans would relay ALL DATA TO HUMANS< therefore we the DESIGNERS are exploring the ocean.

I think theyd have to have something that glows because the pressure would break any transparest glass produc down there. To film it wed need some new type of vision equipment. Like a real detailed radar that could scan the fish, or send 2 robots that one sends an X-ray to the other and anything in between gets printed on a film inside the second one???

No, the PROBLEM we face with exploring the ocean floor is the AIR PRESSURE. We simply CANNOT build anything which can reach the bottom. Robots will not solve this problem because HUMANS cannot solve this problem.

I think its possible. Back in the day no one would have imagined wed put people in space where theyd just explode, opposite of being crushed at the ocean floor, but every advancement we make in the ocean leads us closer to the bottom.

Nah, we are not even any where near being close to getting to the ocean floor, even with all the advancements. We have explored more of the infinitely larger outer space than we have of the relatively small area of the ocean. The reality is that there are places in the universe where man is not meant to go and where man is not able to go.

Good topic though, shit makes me want to watch The Abyss again, that is a good movie about the unknown deep sea.

I saw a some shit on a program a few weeks ago about the deepest point known so far, I think the deepest point is called the Challenger Deep and it is in the Mariana (sp?) Trench or some shit like that, in the Pacific Ocean near Guam. The deepest point is like 36,000 feet or some shit. Crazy far.

more shit that proves how fuckin close minded you are....are you a brilliant scientist that knows everything about air pressure or robot building? your closing the book on a question you dont know the answer to....THATS A BIG SIGN POINTING TO YOUR UNINTELLIGENCE

do really we want to go down there? i mean what if there is some sort of species down there that has been evolving for millions of years undisturbed by man. then we get down there...piss it off some how, and it comes to the surface and just fucks are world up. and what if there are thousands of them down there. i think we should. fuck it.

I've always thought the deep ocean is way more interesting than outer space. We haven't explored shit when you think about how much ocean there is that we've never seen yet. I bet there is some crazy ass shit down there. Probably giant monsters like in that movie "Deep Rising".
