So I'm sure this is covered somewhere else. But I noticed it was "official" as of yesterday that the album is titled "King Of Darkness". It's like wow....I didn't see this one coming!!!!

I thought with Tech's mind and this whole 5 month wait period, it would surely stand for something more unique. F.U.N. sounds better than KOD. Anyways, I just find it ridiculous they even had a contest for that shit. OR...if you are going to have a contest, and it's going to be so easy to guess....then wait until like a week before the contest and then say hey we're having a contest. King of Darkness is a cool title for an album. But not good for a guessing game!!! Especially not since the album cover has been out for some time...

They shouldn't have kept it so secret if it was something dumb like that.. Reminds me of Big Scoob being the big special guest on Killer that nobody would ever care about.

I feel Killer is severely overlooked considering the vast differences in the music throughout the album.. I could of done without so many features on the album..

maybe tech wanted you to think it was more elaborate to throw you off to something as plain and simple as king of darkness, however the title is simple and means just what it is nothing special but it was great to keep people anticipating and guessing especially 5-6 months in advance it kept the hype up.

killer was ok, nothing close to anghellic or absolute power. i like very little on disc 2 alot of filler on killer. sickology gave me the impression that tech doesnt really care anymore and that he just puts shit out. i was over sickology almost 2 weeks after release. MLK shits all over it, i was beginning to believe this was when tech would start going down hill, because for me,since anghellic its only gotten better up until killer and sickology ive seen it go down, with KOD i think he will be redeemed in my eyes and hopefully stay on track and maybe even take a break and come back with something that blows everyone away

The mystery behind the title was a good marketing strategy. As stated, it kept it in the back of a lot of fans' minds over the year so it served it's purpose. However, I think it also has a bit of a negative effect as well. All the hype over what the meaning behind the initialism was created a creative bar that people expected Tech to meet or exceed. "King of Darkness" was probably the first thing that popped into peoples minds once they knew the initials, the concept and especial heard the sampler with that "I need some darkness in my life" line. "Noooo, that's way too simple, way too easy." True, it's the metaphorical 'nail on the head' for the album, but as stated, the mystery created a level of expectation from the title that it fails to reach.

End of the world? No.
