Th $50 ones were made for the iPod touch's. The cheaper ones were made for the iPod Video.

You used to have to use the more expensive with the Ipod Touch or you would not get video only audio. People that bought the cheaper ones were pissed, to say the least. So when they upgraded the firmware to 1.1.3, they changed it so you could use the cheap ones, too.

just to be sure, though, hit up the macrumors or insanelymac forums.

and, what kind of iPod do you have?

record your tantrum and post it on youtube.

in all seriousness, those two forums i posted have some of the most knowledgeable motherfuckers on there. I'm thinking those cables should work with your nano.

I did read what he wrote. those are still component cables and regular video cables. do I know why one won't work with your ipod or tv? no. do I care? no. but you asked what's the difference. and that is the difference.

SO THERE!

composite is shittier quality than component.

composite= RCA yellow white red.. component = RGB, red blue green.

component is the closest you get to HD with analog.
