eh, i was thinking about getting a pit, but everyone always has bad shit to say about them because they will mess you up if you cross em. but, for ene one out there that has a pit, have you ever been bitten by your dog and would you recommend getting a pitbull to someone that has never owned any other type of breed before?? also if there is any other information i should know before getting one, please let me know. i want to get a pup and not a full grown one just so you know, thanks.

A while back i had a Brendel pit, it was tight as hell to kick it with, never bit me once on purpose... and when it did it on accident it would stop fuckin around by itself... theyre coo dogs to have, id consider getting another one. Common sense, if you treat your dog like shit (no matter what breed) its gonna be a lil asshole, just be cool to it and the dog will be chill.

My cousin had a pit, but they gave that motherfucker up when he attacked my 6yr old little cousin. A lot of the pits I've met are cool, but sometimes aggressive. My dog is a big ass 7yr old German Shepherd and that motherfucker has NEVER bitten me. Never, not out of play or anger. I can snatch a bone right out of his mouth and he'll just sit there.

pits were raised to fight in a pit against other dogs and animals, but way back when the breed first started they would break the dogs up by hand, so the dogs are animal agressive (don't get along with other animals) but towards humans they're really loyal... unless you get one that's been abused they're really good for families and good around kids, they like to run and are really playful, so don't keep it locked up inside all day long and make sure you let it play a lot or it'll tear shit up... I've never owned a pit, but I know lots of people that have and most are really friendly, but go look 'em up on the net to learn more, and make sure it's coming from a good blood line so there's not any surprise disease or someshit that you'll have to deal with...

My homboy had a pit and it was tight as fuck but he raised it from a pup. Just treat the motherfucker right and show it love and they'll be cool as shit but you also have to train it, and i don't mean beat it when it don't losten, but show it discipline. Just treat it like a normal dog but remember them dogs were bred for war and they will attack anymoitherfucka that crosses them, owners excluded (at least i've never seen or heard of this). My homie trained his so well that it would attack on command and once attacked hiw own borther when he told him to. It was tight as fuck but that dog was hardcore so be careful who you send it to attack.

Ive own APBTs for the past 10 years and i can truely say they are a breed of pure loyalty. Like the homie said i would definetely look into more information about American Pit Bull Terriers. They do need lots of loving attention because they are attention getters whether you raise yours as another family member, show or the pit fighting sport (which is illegal so watch out). Theres a difference between a pitbull and a APBT so dont go after any dog thats backyard bred. Any dog can be a loving dog its just a matter of how much time your planning to spend on him and how much money your willin to dish out. With all the bad media APBTs been gettin and if your planning on raising him as a pup its vital that you socialize him from the start. Also if your interested in gettin one look in papers, net and look for breeders. APBTs show a lot of personality so choose one that best suits you. I urge you to stay away from the bully pups cause they'll give you more problems, and stay away from a shy one cause APBTs are known to have high anxiety, and thats where you get the tearing stuff up which will cost you more in the long run. Treat him right and you have a friend for life, well til his time passes. Hope this helps a lil bit.

thanks for the feedback. i will be moving soon and it may not be in a nice neighboorhood like i live now. where i plan on moving, there are alot of dope heads and shit, so i don't want someone tryna break in while i am gone, plus i want to get a dog too, but i might live in an apartment. that is about the only reason i won't get on is because of the apartment. what is the average price to pay for a pup?

@aturayacamel,
i haven't been posting here really at all, but i really wanted to ask some questions from folks who i know would just spit some facts to me and that are pit owners. i know woodie would be a good person to ask, but i don't know if he will answer or even see this. stay up

GET ONE. THERE THE BEST DOG IN THE WORLD AND THE ONLY BREED I WOULD EVER OWN. THEY DON'T HAVE TO BE PAPERED AS LONG AS YOU CAN SEE THE PARENTS ON SITE AND PICS OR ON SITE THE GRANDPARENTS. IF YOU LIKE THE WAY THE PARENTS LOOK AND THERE TEMPERMENT THAT'S MORE IMPORTANT THAN A FUCKIN' PIECE OF PAPER UNLESS YOU PLAN ON BREEDING YOUR FEMALE OR STUDDING OUT YOUR MALE THEN YOU'D WANT PAPERS FOR CASH REASONS. IF YOU'RE LOOKIN' FOR A LOYAL FRIEND, THERE'S NO BETTER DOG. AND DEFINITELY DON'T GET A HUSKY/SHEPARD MIX OR WHATEVER TYPE OF MUTT WAS MENTIONED ABOVE. THAT'S JUST A FURRY FLEABAG. YOU JUST GOTTA BE WILLIN' TO PUT IN THE TIME AN EFFORT TO RAISE THEM THE WAY YOU WANT THEM TO BE. SOME WILL ALWAYS BE ANIMAL AGGRESSIVE NO MATTER WHAT IF THEY GOT THAT FIGHT IN THEIR BLOOD. SEEING AND PEEPIN' THE WAY THE PARENTS GET DOWN IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ASPECT OF PICKIN' OUT A PUP.

if your dog ain't doing nothing then get rid of him, but if you love him too much to just get rid of him then at least do something. three times is way too many to get robbed.

@woodie
thanks for the feedback. sounds like you are very opinionated about pits:cheeky: , but it also sounds like you know what you are talking about. i have had homeboys who had fighting dogs and shit, but i want one that isn't as mean as he made them and shit, i was bitten a couple of times by his pups, shit still hurt though.

does anyone know if the red nose/mouth pits are generally more agressive than pits who don't have the red on em? i have heard that they are, but the people who have told me that weren't to sure either. also, does eNe one know any good websites about this? i have been looking but i haven't really found one yet, that's why i have asked these questions here. stay up

APBTs are known to have high anxiety
___________

my dog seems to have it haha...

but i wouldnt trade him for nuttin in the world... the term Man's Best Friend is definitely true...

In my APBT book.. they mention that Pits aren't good guard dogs generally.. becuz many are people friendly.. and the robbers could rob you and even steal your dog LOL....

but i dont think that's a problem with my dog... sum1 pulls up across the street and he's goin wild... barkin and shit...

i would think that males are more agrresive, since they are territorial animals and that's why they constantly piss. But then again females might be even more agressive after they have given or around thee time when they are giving birth. I'm not sure thought but this is what i have seen on other breeds, never pits though.
