Seff the Gaffla- Livin Kinda Lavish

God damn, what the fuck happened to Seff tha Gaffla!? This album was hard as fuck...Just popped it in the other day and knocked it all the way through. JTs production was heated back in the day, and Seff could drop on any beat you asked him to. The lines about "after school detention" and other shit got me rollin. Damn I forgot how tight this album was.

While were on the GLP subject, how bout Rob Low "A Lotta Thingz." Damn that song was classic. Thats like the only song that dude ever released though...

Seff's still around he released Who am I? in 2001 which I though was a pretty good cd (Dock of the Bay feat. San Quinn was the best track.)
He also released Lethal Weapon off Get low. I didn't buy it cause I heard it wasn't that good.

@Madd Dogg--Yes sir...LIVIN' KINDA LAVISH was of a piece with the other old school Get Low releases at the time--JT was at his peak production-wise, and Seff wasn't afraid to try any style..."Skillz Pay The Bills", "Locked Up", "How It All Happen" and "Do You Remember" were my jams. Overlooked CD.

@Tm Black Flag and W.C.S.--re: LEATHAL WEAPON (from last year)...3.5/5

The songs are cool--the problem is that the CD is too damn short (only 28 MINUTES! LMFAO)! The production (by J-Mack) is hit-and-miss, but Seff can still flow. "Fuck Them Folks", "Frisco", "It Looks Right", "Still Strugglin'" (with JT) and "BHFM" are my favorites. If you like Seff, it's worth picking up, but you might want to buy it used--not because the songs suck (they don't), but because it might not be worth spending 15-18 bucks (or whatever chain stores charge for CDs) for a 28 minute CD. PEACE!

"Fags on the grass doin ballerina twirls..." Yeah, Livin Kinda Lavish was a very overlooked cd. Used to bump it all the time, still do. I proudly own the hard to find original. But his newer cd sucks ass. Very dissapointing.

indeed.
and 9 tracks
Sure, but JT has recently announced that he's back to making beats himself. In fact, he said that his upcoming solo THE MAIN EVENT would be self-produced. I wonder if JT would be willing to produce another CD for Seff? Be interesting to see what would happen...

PEACE!

Yeah, Seff with JT producing was a perfect combination. My favorite song had to be Choppers.
All of the old GLP albums during that time are classics. I could listen through every single one of them albums and not skip a song.
Can't forget about D-Moe Do You Feel Me. That was the shit.
