well sarasota is a city next to the bay so its pretty nice out here, lots of rich folk here so the cost of living over here is somewhat high but not that bad tho. i dont if u lookin to say at an apartment or not but they usually run about $600-700 a month for probly like a 2 or 3 bedroom and a bathroom depends on where u look if not u might be able to look in bradenton, florida which is da city like 10miles north of us which is cheaper over there. as for entertainment theres lotz of clubs and bars in the downtown area or in the different keys/islands there are connected to sarasota. if u need any more specific info let me know and maybe ill be able to help

Gas prices, weather, and the distance between Sarasota and Tampa need "local perspective"?

Yes, perception of gas price at $3.09 is important to me as it is a reflection of cost of living in the area.

Yes, perception of weather at 65 is important to me as it is a reflection on weather trends by someone who actually lives in the area. 65 to me is fucking sweet, but to a local it may not be.

Tampa, I was looking for drive time which is what I got. This is important to me as I plan on attending the Saints game annually if I move there. As well as it being a large metro area with prospects of more to do if Sarasota doesn’t offer enough for our taste.

I'm glad you're so interested though, thanks for asking.

I heard not to live in any of the near by cities... the towns to the north and south aren't as nice.

To check the area west of us 41 and south of downtown or Palmer Ranch or fruitville or bee ridge within a few miles of the i75 on either side.

Thoughts?

Yea I wud say to look anywhere south of fruitville, in between fuitville n clark rd. Then you'll have us 41 and I-75 on either side. them 2 highways take u pretty much anywhere. And u won't be too far away from downtown either

I wuz out in Tampa last summer

Shit is just weird to me.....felt like I wuz in Tha twighlight zone

It wuz so hot and HUMID nobody wuz outside, aside from Tha cars, tha streets r empty, looks like a ghosttown with buildings, Miami wuz Tha same way, they freeways is different out there, u don't C Tha city from Tha freeway, when u take an exit u gotta drive far off Tha freeway to get to Tha actual city, but it makes for less traffic on Tha freeway atleast cuz u don't have people hoppin on Tha freeway just to take a Lil exit...weird

Clearwater actually had people out side and reminded me of Cali somewhat....

Tha whole experience just made me appreciate livin in Cali that much more....
