West Coast rap legend, and one-half of Tha Dogg Pound, Kurupt has revealed

that he is currently working on several new projects featuring production from his DPG p-n-c, Daz, big homie Snoop Dogg (who produces under the moniker Niggerachi), and a few certified musical geniuses, including Teddy Riley, DJ Quik, Pete Rock and DJ Premier. The latter two are helming Kurupt’s forthcoming G-Boy Status album.

“DJ Quik keeps sending me heaters everyday to add to that [though], so do Teddy Riley and Snoopy, so it’s getting bigger every second,” Kurupt told DX. “But my ‘G-Boy Status’ album is basically DJ Premier and Pete Rockoverseeing the whole gig. [The album is] straight Hip Hop, emcee shit, gangsta rap, everything mixed up in one [album]. You can’t evencharacterize it.”

An initial sampling from G-Boy Status, the Pete Rock produced “Yessir,” premiered on DX earlier this week [click to listen].

No tentative release date has been set yet for G-Boy Status. Nor has there been a date confirmed for the release of the first compilation project from Kurupt’s Pentagon Entertainment label (which is distributed via Fontana/Universal Records), or the additional projects he currently has planned.

“Me and Snoop doing one right now,” he revealed, “a ‘Niggerachi Presents’ album that Snoop’s doing on me with him, DJ Quik and Teddy Riley. I [also] got a record with [just] DJ Quik that I’m doing, ‘Life After 70.’ And that’s gonna musically best describe places that I’m trying to go for this new Kurupt sound.”

Kurupt’s current sound can be heard on the iTunes-exclusive Dogg Pound project, Let’s Ride Tonight, and will soon be heard on the next DPG album proper, 100 Wayz. Kurupt and Daz are meeting with several major labels to discuss distributing the album after their deal with Cash Money Records to release the project fell through last fall [click to read]. “Right now me and Daz is concentrating on making the album itself while we talk to people,” said Kurupt. “So we have no home for [the album] yet.”
