I just finished "Content of our Character" by Shelby Steele. It's a short book, you can probly finish it in between 4 hours to a day depending on how fast you read.
But the perspective given on the black conscious and racism in America is something I've never seen or heard before. While it does seem a bit "Republican" (2-0-6 and nefar will now officially never read this book...haha) at first, the way he gives light to fears and conscious had me looking at pretty much every race-related topic from a completely new perspective.
Go to your library, ask for Shelby Steele "Content of our Character", pick up this book. The reading level is advanced high school/low college. I don't see anyone here having a hard time with it. (except carlos' dumb ass lol).
Anyways even if you disagree 100 percent, I can see it spawning alot of interesting discussions in here. If you don't read it, you must hate black people, and if you're Black and don't read it, you aren't really Black, so don't read it.
Just playin...good book tho...pick it up.
