I know I'm getting a new workstation for my birthday (k2661 or 2600) but I'm looking into getting an mpc 4000 also. I dont *need* the 4000 as a sequencer but I would like to use one as a module. Basically snatch one and max around 40 of the 60 gig with hella sounds. I've played with one (had to get it synced at another lab) but I haven't made a beat on one myself.
I know you can play keygrouped programs (strings, bass) on this unit but I don't wanna play from it. So with that being said how do *you* use your mpc 4000 and most importantly if you use it as a sound module do you have to load all of the sounds? Basically can I use it as I would a triton rack or motif es? Turn the knob, new sound, turn the knob gay sound, turn the knob gay sound, turn the knob tight sound.....blah blah blah....
If I have to reload sounds after I turn the knob to get a new sound (if thats even how the unit works) it's something I wont snatch.
:HGK:
ps Norkoastal if your reading this have glen hit me up ASAP about his mpc 4000.
