Hey, man.. its a dope movie. plain and simple. if you don't like duffy's work or think its too "tarentino-like", you got another thing comin. Even Tarentino said he likes Duffy's work and is a fan of the Saints. This guy can make movies. I thought Boondock Saints was brilliantly done. The story was that of two irish vigilantes that want to bring an end to crime in their neighborhood. that story was conveyed flawlessly in my opinion. the script was DECENT. the acting was fucking awesome (the last scene in the court room still gives me chills and william dafoe was brilliant as usual). the production and directing was right on. I dont see how you can have major qualms with this movie other than "its not original" or "its a tarentino ripoff".
The sequel, from what I just learned, will in fact go into production very soon, will be off the chains. I read the synopsis. Very interesting. Thats all Im gonna say. No Dafoe though.

People assume if your film contains pop culture references, ultra-violence made cool, lots of “fuck” and/or non-linear storytelling that somehow you are a Tarantino rip off. All it really means is those people don’t know shit about movies.
Boondock Saints was not a Tarantino rip off nor Tarantino-like.
Tarantino flicks = quality
Boondock Saints = sucks
Even if you don’t like Tarantino movies, some people with otherwise good taste in film don’t, there is no way you (being a sane fan of quality films) should enjoy Boondock Saints.
Boondock Saints = The dialog is horrid. The plot sucks. The pacing of the “film” is crappy. Bad acting (except for Defoe, but him being good(questionable) in it wasn’t enough to save the movie, nor to make it worthy of jocking). Could there have been a worse ending, maybe, but you’d have to intentionally try and make one. Horrible editing – fade in fade out, fade in fade out, should be a course on how NOT to do non-linear story telling. Trys to be a serious "gangster" flick but instead comes off as a parady of them.
