Anybody know about newsgroups?

My homie jus put me up on newsgroups...shits pretty tight. But I dont think I'm gettin full spead coz of the port. Does anybody know how I can set up an alternate port? I have verizon dsl and im using newsbin. Or does anybody know wat other ports verizon allows other than 119?

ive never had to configure a port for newgroups, you sure ur not thinking about bittorrent
