THERE AINT A HOBBY FORUM SO I'LL POST THIS HERE. I JUST RECENTLY GOT INTO IT. RIGHT NOW I'M KEEPING TROPICAL FRESH WATER FISH. ONE TANK WITH CICHLIDS, ONE WITH MORE PEACEFUL TROPICALS. EVENTUALLY I'LL SET UP A SALT WATER TANK CUZ IN MY EYES THAT'S THE PINNACLE, BUT FOR NOW I'M FUCKIN WITH THE FRESH WATER.

LOST A GANG OF FISH GETTING STARTED AND NOT KNOWING WHAT I WAS DOING. BUT NOW MY TANKS ARE STABLE AND IT'S BEEN COOL.

ANYBODY ELSE IN TO THIS SHIT? WHAT DO YALL KEEP? ANY TIPS FROM ANYONE OUT THERE?

i work at petco..
dont have a tank yet but eventually when i learn more i will get a salt water

some basic tips
do 25 percent water changes once a week

get a submersible heater that is digital

put like 3 bettas in with your cichlids and watch the fun lol

you should put your cichlids in a big tannk so they grow fat and then feed them smaller fish

WORD. YEAH PETCO HAS SOME FISH. OUT OF THE BIG CHAINS I GO THERE AND PET SMART. AINT TOO MANY PLACES FUCKIN WITH PET SMART IN RICHMOND BY HILLTOP. YEAH I DO 25% WATER CHANGES EVERY WEEK OR SO. IN A COUPLE MONTHS I'M GONNA COP THE 55 GALLON TANK AND GET SOME BIG CICHLIDS. THOSE GEOPHAGUSES ARE THE TRUTH.

WHERE'S CHREE I KNOW HE'S GOT SOME GAME ON THIS SUBJECT.

my friend has a couple oscars, hes had for like 10 years, and we buy a bag of feeder goldfish and hold em up above the tank and those muthafuckas will seriously jump 2 feet out the water and snatch the fish out of your hand

we have some lion fish in at work right now that will jump out of the bag lmao

i had a tank when i lived in illinois. i had a banjo catfish, some neon tetras, 2 bloodfin sharks, 2 irridesent however you spell it sharks, a couple of silver dollars, and a a bunch of others i cant remember. i only had a 20 gallon long tank but it was nice.

THAT'S WHATS UP SHEA. 100 GALLONS IS FUCKIN HUGE. HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO GET THAT BIG ASS TANK CYCLED?

WHAT KIND OF FISH DO YOU HAVE THE IN THE SALT WATER TANK? I'M ASSUMING YOU HAVE THE PROTEIN SKIMMER, THE WHOLE 9.

DO YOU MIX YOUR OWN SALT IN OR BUY SEA WATER FROM THE STORE?

I used to fuck with freshwater tanks hard, i had about 3 tanks once. Cichlids were my thing too, but it just got too messy, it was cool cuz at the time i worked at a petstore and i would steal hella fish.

i always wanted to get into salt walter, and i might when i buy my house, but that shit is high maintenence

is is that hard?? and whats it costing for a 80-100 gallon tank?? and the filters heaters and other shit..

FOR AN 80-100 GALLON TANK WITH THE STAND, HEATERS, FILTERS, ETC YOU'RE LOOKING AT ABOUT 400-600 BUCKS....
