The reason I ask is because today me and my dad were waiting in line at Home Depot today and some big burly construction worker just straight cut in front of us at the register saying that he was in a hurry because he had to get back to the job site.
Well, my dad wasnt hearing it, he told dude to "wait in fucking line like everybody else."
Now my dad is about 6 foot, 220 pounds, but this dude was at least 6-5' and 300 pounds, plus my dad is 53 years old... the construction worker was probablly in his late 20s.
So the construction worker looked my dad down and said "Oh you want to start shit old man?" And he stepped to him.
That made my dad even more pissed off and he straight put his hand in the dudes face and pushed it away with his palm saying "Get the fuck out my face"
The construction worker then pushed my dad hella hard. If it wasnt for the people behind us in line, my dad would of probably fell to the ground, but the people behind us kinda kept this from happening by being there as a cushion of sorts that my dad stumbled into.
So now my dad is heated, construction worker is heated, and a fight is ready to break out in line at Home Depot. But then some thoughts crossed my mind.
Ive heard stories of my dads quick temper and fights that he used to get into all the time when he was younger, he was never one to back down. But I myself have never seen him fight before. Plus now he's in his 50s and he's not the young brawler he used to be. Plus all my life my dad was basically Superman. Ya know? He fix any problem I had, tackled any chalenge our family faced, supported us, protected us... he's like Superman to me. Ive never seen my dad fail at anything, Ive never seen my dad defeated.
But, I could of right there in Home Depot today. And I dont know if I could handle seeing my dad get his ass kicked. My whole image of him would of been shattered, and I know it would disturb me to no end if I had to pick up "Superman" off the ground with a bloody face and a black eye.
So I stepped in and stopped the fight before it escalated into a brawl. My dad was ready to throw down, but I dont think I was ready to see my dad possibly go down.
I just cant imagine seeing my dad's manhood getting beaten out of him by a younger, stronger cat. It would fuck with my head. Any thoughts? Was I wrong to stop the fight?
