i broke my foot 3 months ago and it is not healing. the doc said i will need a screw put it in.
how long to recover? will i need a hard cast and/or crutches?
any stories or insight on breaks and screws?

I got a couple of screws in my ankle couple of years back, the recovery process was somewhere around six or eight months, and after the surgery my foot area had a slight numbness for a few months, but that eventually cleared up as well...

dude at my work had a few screws in his foot last months or so....he's walkin around fine now...and got the screws out

He had a hard cast and crutches for about a month but was walkin around ok with the crutches, you just cant put weight on that foot or you will snap the screw and thats no joke.....talk about pain...
But dude is walkin fine now...i hate that fucker and wanted to push him down the stairs so bad....


great way to get some Vicodins though.....get at me.....lol

Yeah, it was six to eight months recovery time total from the break to complete healing, then add the six or so months of numbness and sensitivity following the susrgery, after the surgery they gave me a huge ass soft cast for about a month then sent me back to get a hard cast, afterwords it was an ankle brace, then finally it was removed and I was back on my feet, although with a slight limp, recovery time depends on how bad the injury is. With me, my ankle was quite fucked up really needed to get the surgery...

My boy broke his leg Bryant Young style, ice skating with his breezy LOL, but not that funny. Anyway, he did that the first of this year, got screws put in, and got that fucking cast off a month ago! But his injury was pretty fucking extensive so it may be different for you.

I sprained my left ankle consistently since I was in 8th grade up to now. My senior year in high school, I sprained my ankle 3 times and was out 1/2 the season in b-ball. Matter of fact, I sprained my left ankle again 2 weeks ago but I'm still ballin. I'm sure my shit is all fucked up and I need surgery but I NEVER went to a doctor whenever I sprain my shit.

but i got screws in my wrist after i fuked it up hella bad dirtbikn and i got tore my acl completely and fractured my femur and had to have orthoscopic surgery shit suckz

HEY HOMIE I BROKE MY ANKLE PLAYIN HOOPS IN JAIL AND I GOT TWO SCREWS IN MY SHIT. THAT WAS LIKE A YEAR AGO AND MY SHIT STILL AINT NORMAL, I DOUBT IT EVER WILL BE. THE DOCS WERE SAYIN SOME SHIT ABOUT A FUSION SURGERY AND I NEVER WENT BACK. I HAD A HARD CAST FOR LIKE 6 MONTHS AND THEN CRUTCHES FOR THE LONGEST. GOOD LUCK MAYNE
