My granddad flew planes in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. Flew 282 combat missions and his only injury was breaking his wrist after slipping in the shower (I think in WWII).

He was a test pilot at Edwards AFB. Says he lost more people in his test pilot unit than in his unit in Viet Nam.

Dude is about 85 and still puts in about 3 or 4 hours on an exercise bike every day. He can't lift weights like he wants to, but he's still a beast.

My father was in the pacific campaign in WWII, He was in the navy and drove the little troop transports that dropped marines off on the beaches. He was at Iwo Jima.

EDIT: LOL at my post sounding like a third grade homework assignment.

Great Grandpa was a Navy Field Corpsman with the Infantry Marines...he fought at Saipan, and Okinawa during WWII and with the 1st Marine Division later in Korea.

Other Grandpa was an Army Infantrymen in Vietnam from 67-68 in the Mekong Delta, got a purple heart from a mortar round during an ambush.

Stepdad is an Army Infantrymen and has done two Iraq tours, from 03-04 and 07-08

Got another Uncle who is an Army Infantrymen who has done one in Iraq and another in 07-08 with the 173rd Airborne in Afghanistan. 2/503rd took the most casualties of any unit that ever went to Afghanistan.

I could say honestly... he went crazy a few years back & I havent talked to him in a while.
That sucks...i grew up in a military fam so I was always interested in their stories and all that...

yeah the Rakkassans are the 187th Infantry Regiment..kicked ass in Korea and fought all thru the nam...took Hamburger Hill...you said he was Airborne so i assumed 187th cause i think that was the only airborne unit to fight in korea.
