i was wondering if anybody knows how to extract the voice portion from a music track? something to do with normalization.

from wut i heard, u can't do that without erasing a good chunk of the vocals along with the instrumental

or wuz it the other way around?

but maybe someone else on hurr will tell u different.....

normalization has *nothing* to do with what your talking about. on my vs 880ex i have an fx called vocal remove (or something like that). it works pretty good but sometimes vital frequencies are cut (mids and lows) leaving me with a song that sounds as if instruments were missing.

There is no way to get a decent or remotely usable acapella from a full mix.

You can check if there is an acapella on the single of the song you want (although that is rare). You can very carefully eq the song to try to remove as much instrumentation as possible, but unless you're just using it as a short vocal sample, you'll find the results unusable.
