18. The Good Times That Follow

1. Casualties Of Life (7.5 / 10)
The CD starts out with a solo by Gemini. The beat is somewhat in the background and could have been switched up just a bit, but Gemini's rough spit overrides it and it goes very well with the song. This song has a serious tone, medium-paced beat, and some very real lyrics. Gem gives some true feelings in the words of this song and overall its a song that gives you a feeling for what is to come in the rest of the CD.

2. Street Connect (9.0 / 10)
Starts off with Yukmouth on an answering machine, then comes in with a heated first verse. It was a great idea to instantly feature heated rappers like Yuk. The beat is a deep dark one, with a violin-sounding rhythm going on the whole time. After Yuk drops his shit, Gemini comes in with a thick growling voice and a cool verse. The next verse, Yun Gun, is alright but im definitely feeling... Droop on the fourth. Heated fast paced lyrics add to this song greatly. I dont hear the last verse - Smuggla - much, its alright but my least favorite verse. Overall the song is tight though.

3. Verbal Warfare (8.5 / 10)
A quicker paced beat starts this song off and the production is great - feeling it more than the last 2 beats. Gemini lays his words down clearly synchronized with the beat and comes off way cool. The song talks about only spittin' real lyrics and not messing with the fake stuff. Good cut.

4. 2Faces (8.5 / 10)
Gem starts out with a cool soundin' verse. The beat is a little more laid back and a little more old school in a way. It has some organ/piano shit going on in the background and sounds somewhat medieval. Hard to explain but it's good stuff. Other than Sinn on the chorus, this is a Gemini solo. Another quality song!

5. Blind Justice (7.0 / 10)
An overall high-pitched beat and some strange sounds thrown in. Not bad sounds, just weird. It doesn't slump too hard but its an aight beat. Gemini comes on the first verse and its pretty good, a little slow paced, but its pretty good. I've never heard Hyst or Key Locc, the featured artists, and their verses are mediocre. Average stuff, but not bad.

6. Murderous Material (7.5 /10)
The drums are the main lead of this beat. Some basslines hidden in the background but for the most part its a high soundin' song. Its very short but I like all of the verses. Their voices go together well together and come off clean.

7. North, South, East & West (8.5 / 10)
This song sounds a lot different than any of the previous ones on the album. It has a funky beat with some funky lyrics - tight though. The first verse is Squab - I think - And he comes off clean. Key Locc is alright too but he hasn't impressed me too much yet. Gemini has a sicc verse too - nice work.

8. 415 To The 831 (9.5 / 10)
Kaoz the Assassin is featured and he instantly comes tiiiight. Quick raps with a lil' bit of that after-voice effect after some of his words (You know, the Killa Tay thing.). Gemini follows it up goin' quick paced and I'm liking it! Never heard Spank Loc before this either, but he comes tight too! Bump it!

9. Thee Ungrateful (9.0 / 10)
My favorite solo Gemini Song. The beat is tight as fuck - hits my shit hard! Gem's raspy voice goes along with it great too and the production is top notch. Talks about what the title says - ungrateful bitches and punks. Some real shit right here.

10. End Of Days (6.0 / 10)
Wow. Lady Outlaw starting it off almost killed it - most female rappers I can stand but not feeling her at all. Oops! The beat is a lot like the last song - its cool, but they should have been spaced out differently on the CD. Gemini with his 2nd verse is probably the best one. His voice goes well with the beat. The few others on this track are so-so. Not bad, but not too good.

11. Lowrider In The City (8.0 / 10)
One of my favorite beats on the CD just because it sounds so true hip-hop wise. It's got a lot of stuff going on - somewhat like a Sic Wid It beat you could say. B-Dog sounds sicc as fuck on the first verse and I'm lovin' it... second is Bigfoot - first time i've heard him and definitely not bad. Gem comes in with a coo' verse. Bump it.

12. Heaven Can't Wait (7.5 / 10)
Switching up the sound and flow of the CD (A good thing) the beat is light-hearted, laid-back, whatever you want to call it. Sounds way good. Props to Yun Gun on his production of most of the CD. Gemini has some cool lyrics, sounds like he does on most of the other songs, and Doom is on the chorus - good work.

13. Count The Cash (9.5 / 10)
Crazy ass beat! Starts off hella cool with Droop heatin' things up. Feeling it to the fullest. Gemini's fastest paced lyrics on this CD are seen on this song. He does a great job and fits in the beat perfectly. Yeaaah, HEAT!

14. Time (8.0 / 10)
A very slow song. Good beat for it and Gemini comes off cool. A very deep song talking about struggling through time, running out of it, and other emotional shit. Even though this song is somewhat slow paced, the beat still knocks hard.

15. Reminiscin' 97 (8.5 / 10)
A more R&B type beat kicks in and Gemini kicks in this solo song with a cool verse. The song is about his dad passing away and remembering all the good shit about him. A very deep song and I felt it when I was listening to it. The chorus is great too. Nice one, very emotional.

16. The Lost World (8.0 / 10)
Young Blaze starts the song off on this extremely deep dark beat that holds my subs in one place for a long time. Pretty good stuff. Squab on the second verse and comes with h-e-a-t! Feeling his shit a lot. He sounds like he could fit in with the Mob Figaz so much, you know? Doe Doe is average. An overall cool track.

17. Sometimes They Say (9.0 / 10)
Holy shit this song's got a lot of features! 14 Rappers total are on this shit (counting Gemini & production). Ju Ju comes tight as hell on his early verse and I'm wondering why I've never heard him before. The chorus is sicc and most of the rappers are sicc. Even Lady Outlaw adds to the song with some singing shit between a verse. I like it a lot.

18. The Good Times That Follow (7.0 / 10)
The last song on the track is so laid back; a solo cut by Gemini. He talks about his mom almost dying from brain surgery - luckily she pulled through. A real song and a good end to the CD.

OVERALL RATING: 82 / 100

Before listening to Gemini's CD and talking with him a bit, I didn't know who he was. Now I do. This guy is about to come up big. He has a good raspy rap voice and goes well with a lot of other big names' flows (Yuk, Droop, Kaoz, etc). The production on this CD is damn good - a couple of beats that were very repetitive and could have been switched up more, but overall I was feeling it. Gemini seems to be very true to his lyrics and doesn't spit shit that doesn't mean anything. All his stuff sounded real. This is a quality release and I'll be glad to purchase anything by Gemini in the future.
