damn..just got my hands on my homeboys copy of this...im bumpin it and damn..Mac Dre is fuckin savage....at first when his style made that semi switch to what i call "thizz music" i was hesistant and thinkin it might be a turn for the worst...but listenin to the shit hes been makin(and bein open about it) i gotta say hes steady droppin tight shit...MD never disapoints me..now theres a few tracks on here that im not feelin completely..but overall this shit is hard 8.5/10..depending on the modd im in it could be a 10

Yup, Mtown--that 8.5/10 rating for GENIE's about right (I'd probably give DREGANOMICS an 8/10). I've dug MD all through his career. IMHO, a listener has to approach the more recent MD CDs differently than the earlier stuff. His recent shit's dope--it's just dope in a DIFFERENT WAY than the earlier CDs. That's the key.

A lot of times, I think MD has fun rhyming just to rhyme, even if the song doesn't have a message--which is cool, because after all, isn't that how Hip-Hop started in the '70s? As much as I love gangsta and (although you don't hear it much nowadays) political rap, I don't want to be analyzing shit ALL THE TIME. That's where MD comes in. He's one of the few rappers I know of who can make you laugh and yet still command respect because of some rhyme/phrase that makes you ask, "did he just say what I THINK he said? How could anyone think of something like THAT?" MD reminds me of the kind of dude who can make you laugh WITH him, but you probably wouldn't want to laugh AT him (or harass him in any way), because you know that he could probably whoop your ass if he wanted to. Not many rappers can make you laugh w/out being viewed as "novelty" artists w/ short shelf-lives. MD does, and he still has a solid following.

I BEEN HAD THE RONALD DREGAN ADVANCE FOR MONTHS......BUT ALL THE SONGS THAT WERE ON IT GOT SPLIT UP BETWEEN THE ACTUAL RONALD DREGAN RELEASE AND GENIE OF THE LAMP.....THEN HE ADDED SOME NEW TRACCS TO EACH BUT YEAH ALL THEM SONGS THAT WAS ON THE ADVANCE WAS KNOCCIN TO ME AND IF IT WOULD OF JUS BEEN AN ALBUM LIKE THAT IT WOULD OF BEEN 10.....BUT I GUESS HE MAKES MORE MONEY THIS WAY......2 TIMES AND PASS WAS JUS ONE VERSE AND A FEW MINUTES OF BEAT SO I THOUGH HE WAS GONNA FINISH IT UP AND ADD 2 MORE VERSES....I WAS DISSAPOINTED TO FIND OUT HE DIDNT BUT STILL THAT ONE VERSE IS TIGHT....
