CLEVELAND -- First Papa John's, now McDonald's and Dunkin' Donuts are preparing for a promotion that would give consumers the chance to sample their products -- for free, or nearly so.
On May 15, when you buy a medium or large drink at a participating McDonald's, you'll get a free Southern Style Chicken Sandwich or Southern Style Chicken Biscuit, which is on the breakfast menu.
McDonald's is rolling out the new products as the company plans to add more chicken products to its menu.
You can try the Southern Style Chicken Biscuit from 7:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. and the Southern Style Chicken Sandwich from 10:30 a.m. until 7 p.m.
The offer is good only while supplies last.
Also on May 15, Dunkin' Donuts is giving away a free, small iced coffee at participating locations.
The company says the offer is one per customer per visit with no purchase necessary.
Last week, Papa John's offered up its 23-cent pizza promotion as an apology to Cleveland Cavaliers fans over a franchisee's T-shirt calling LeBron James a "crybaby."
Papa John's sold 75,000 pizzas, donating the money to the Cavs charities.
