okay: i got a l7 and a kicker amp... i tried to set it up, set it up all correctly, and nothing came out... at first the amp was running and everything, but no sound. i disconnected everyghing again then set it up, plugged (either the ground or the 24v) wire into the amp, it sparks, then the amp wouldnt even turn on. so i think the amp is blown, right?

-so i took it to best buy (thats where they wired it in the first place for my old setup). they troubleshooted for free, and said the ground wire was bad, and replaced it. but i didnt know if the sub worked, because they said it would be 20 bucks for them to lift it out and just take a look, so i said no. they also had to replace the fuses, and they said it was putting out low power or something when they hooked it up to their test sub. so now the amp was lighting up and everyghing.

so i take it home 2 weeks ago, and the amp lights up and everything, i set it up to the sub, and still nothing, no music. i wired it right, believe me, i tried a million diferent ways... so i took the amp out and put it in my house so it didnt get stolen.

now i took a look at it all today, set it all up AGAIN. i rubbed the ground wire against something on accident, and it sparked. so i set everything up again, and now the amp wont even light up.

the amp is under warranty, but i dont understand how i could blow an amp when it had only been played. It was bought off the internet, and i would rather not send it back and wait for a new 1 unless i have too.

HELP!!!!

amps are very easily blown by touching metal in the car. although in most cases you just blow fuses when you touch metal. I would check all your fuses in your car first before assuming the amp is blown. You should have one under the hood of your car and if its a good amp you should have 4 too 6 fuses in the amp itself. if there is a break in the fuse the fuse is bad. Also too check if your sub is still good. take a power drill battery and take your sub out the box and touch the wires running from the sub itself that you disconnected from the inside of the box too the battery of the power drill. so the sub has wires coming off it not leading anywhere you just take those two wires positive and negitive and connect them too the positive and negitive metal of the battery. if the subs move when you touch the battery the subs are still good. if they do no t respond at all they are blown.

^^^i agree. on your b+, that connects to your amp, it has a fuse. that is definitely burned out. replace it. your ground is normally recommended that its no further than 12 inches from the amp. also. wire up your whole car, and then put the fuse on the amp till you are finished, that way you dont accidently burn out your fuses. amp normally fry from over using or too much power running thru them. in your case it should only be a fuse.

Are your RCA's plugged in correctly to your deck? Also make sure you have your blue wire connected to the deck too. If you touched the ground to the metal it sparked? I would worry if your power touched metal, your ground is supposed to touch metal. If your power cord hit the metal you probably only blew a fuse. Check them all really good, because systems are touchy and have to make good contact everywhere.... BTW, I'd remove the ground from your battery when you try doing any work on your amps, you'll save your self a headache...
